My agent tells us there is an audition for a commercial for a credit union. Dick and I both go.
I actually have only been to a few auditions since many of the jobs around here, they just look at pictures that the agent submits and select the people they like. I also thought we would be auditioning in front of a live person but instead, the audition is videotaped and sent to the client.
Therefore, I didn’t prepare much and I think it showed. Dick and I briefly reviewed the lines before taping and I was making fun of how cheesy he was saying the lines. We didn’t really practice and didn’t even think to memorize them. Shows how much I know. Oh well. You live and you learn.
But that’s why we try to make it to as many auditions as possible. Practice. No, I’m not looking to be the next movie star but when you do something, why not do it well?
