Since the weather was around 60F and sunny, we took full advantage. Along with my parents Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac (not pictured because they’re walking laps around the track), we head with the kids and the dogs to a simple yet beautiful park and a most fabulous PIER. I love piers!

Family Arts and Crafts: The flower series.
A couple of years ago I started “Family Arts and Crafts Time” for our family. I would go to the dollar store and buy something we could paint and then we would paint them at home one night as a fun family project. We have a few completed projects:
The Birdhouse Series.
The Seashell Series.
In each series, [...]
The park, boys with long curly hair, and getting locked out of the car.
Since it was a nice day in winter, we took the kids to the park.
We get invited to a last minute doggie wedding. Yuki & Oscar’s!!
I had this idea to let my Mom’s new Pekingese (Yuki) mate with Oscar because I thought they would make cute babies. Lucy is up for it but reminds me that it might be difficult since Oscar only has one ball. Yes, one ball. No matter, we’re going to give it a try. Apparently though, [...]
Ice Skating in LA during winter in shorts and tee shirts???
When we were in LA, Thelma was begging me to go ice skating like EVERY DAY. She missed it SO much. Around the corner from J Lo’s place was one of those small, temporary outdoor rinks they set up over the “winter” in her area. I don’t like these because usually the ice is really [...]
From Sunny LA to the freezing cold of the South!
Yes, after being in Los Angeles for a month, we’re coming back home. We’ve just got off the plane and like I mentioned before, I’m ready to hop right back on and go back to LA.
-IT’S FRIGGIN’ COLD!!
Yes, LA is superficial and plastic but it’s also WARM and SUNNY! The days are around mid-70s and [...]
Flying Southwest Back to Metropolis: Going back home after a month.
It’s been a month that we’ve been in LA. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself. It’s the first time EVER that I’ve never spent Christmas with my parents but it’s also the first time EVER that I’ve spent Christmas in such warm, lovely weather. Los Angeles is crazy but I really will miss their weather.
I had an [...]
Boursin Cheese and Mamma Mia starts off 2010 for us.
It’s about 10:30 when we’re done eating our yummy sushi at Katsuya so we head to Lucy’s house to chill.
We’re watching the countdown on CNN but I think it’s a replay of the dropping of the ball in NY’s Time Square. Whatever, it’s still almost midnight for us so we use it as our own West Coast countdown. [...]
Dinner at Katsuya Sushi on low key and fabulous New Year’s Eve.
I have never really partied on New Year’s Eve. I always spend it at home, chillin. I think it’s because it’s cold and I really don’t want to venture out. Plus, with all the drunks out there, I would rather be with my family.
As you can imagine, there’s tons to do in LA for New [...]
My Big Fat Persian Family in LA
Dick’s family just recently relocated to LA from Germany. If you’ve ever seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Dick’s family kinda reminds me of that. They are bold, not shy to speak their mind, always talking and talking loudly, always having a great time laughing and dancing, and eating.
