Dick has to go to Gotham City to pick up another car. He decides at the last minute to do this and so airfare is ridiculous. With no other options, he decides to brave the Greyhound. I am fearful because just last year, I read this horrible story about an innocent bus-riding young man who gets beheaded by some insane Canadian. Click HERE to read the gruesome story.
Unlike Europe, Asia, and other countries around the world, we no longer use passenger trains in the great USA. Even our neighbor, Canada, has a fantastic train system and they don’t even have as many people! With that crazy beheading story, I would choose to ride the train any day over the bus.
Traveling by train is my FAVORITE way to travel. I’ve even been on the fastest train there is out there, the Shinkasen, aka The Bullet Train, in Japan. You get to see some of the most beautiful country-sides that you would never see if you were on a plane AND you are not confined to just your tight, little seat and the closet they call a bathroom. Free to walk around and even reserve a sleeping cabin, you can relax, sit around the table and play cards with your friends or family. There’s no circulating air so you don’t have to breath in other people’s nasty germs. Traveling by train is also the SAFEST way to travel. Need some statistics?
Best of all? Trains are almost ALWAYS on time. No delays!
Why the US isn’t on board to do this is beyond me, especially with crazy gas prices today. So, people, let’s push for HIGH SPEED RAILS in the USA!!! All the mega-rich oil companies can just SUCK IT!
Ok, so back to Dick. Dick is less than thrilled to ride the bus but you do what you gots to do. Greyhound is the only service that is out here and it’s $45 to go to Gotham City. I wish him the best of luck and pray some crazy lunatic doesn’t get to him.
UPDATE: So Dick made it to Gotham City ok. Whew! He said it wasn’t bad riding the bus but not great either. It served its purpose. So proud of my fearless Dick and glad he’s still in one piece.
A train system in the US would help boost tourism here, especially in smaller cities. Apparently there is a vision for High Speed Rails in America so let’s get on board! For more info check out the US Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. WE NEED TRAINS!!!
I know we would travel by train all the time! What about you? Would you travel by train? Thoughts???

I love trains too. The one time I rode in the states was Memphis to NOLA and it took longer than driving. They stopped at every little po-dunk Mississippi town. So not exactly high speed. I would love a cross state one, would make visits home much easier!
