Our garage is a multipurpose room for us. When we first bought the house, there was no room for a “playroom”. So, Dick sealed up the garage, cleaned it and painted the concrete.
We layed down a couple of rugs, put our spare king bed out there, all the kids toys, and later the ping pong table.
We also put my old PC out there for the girls so the girls and guests have full internet access.
The “garage” is our playroom/guestroom.
Well it WAS a playroom/guestroom until until last Friday.
Everyone knows it’s hard to find a good, honest mechanic that won’t screw you every which way. The main car dealers that have their own mechanic shops charge you an arm, a leg, and your first born to fix anything. If you find one you trust, keep them. Well, we have ourselves a new mechanic!

Dick has now taken over our space to do some maintenance on our cars. You can imagine how thrilled I am about this.
Look, my beloved ping pong table is folded off the side. How are we going to play late night ping pong? I think I’m going through ping-pong withdrawal.
However, despite my desire to keep my playroom/guestroom, having our garage for it’s intended purpose is saving us money. Temporary Dick assures me. Fine.
I have to say though, Dick looks pretty hot fixing our cars. Hehehe.
In the last five days, Dick has changed out the brakes, rotated tires, performed a tune-up, is draining the transmission…and more. There’s a list of things he wants to do and I think he’s really enjoying this. The labor on these things can really put a hole in the pocket so I am super happy to have a new mechanic on the job. It’s really not that hard if you have the right tools.
