Fun with Jane and Dick

It’s time to retreive Daddy since he’s been gone for over 2 weeks in LaLa Land (A.k.a. LA, Los Angeles). We found a great reasonable  flight that is direct but it’s a 3 hour drive to this airport. Dick’s flight is supposed to arrive at 3:30pm and so I’m rushing to hit the road after Mother-Daughter Ballet Day because I am supposed to meet up with one of my friends who lives on the way for a short visit before picking up Dick.

Thelma wants to pump gas and Louise? I guess she’s just checking herself out in the reflection of the car.

What snacks can we trick Mommy into purchasing?

 

It’s a gorgeous, sunny day and a great day for a drive.

 

DICK HAS BEEN DELAYED

Shortly after I hit the road, Dick calls me to tell me he has missed his flight. I’m not shocked since Dick is NOTORIOUS for being late. This time, he says it’s not his fault though because he was pulled aside for ”random” additional flight screening. Although this is nothing new for Dick, he is surprised because this time, he actually shaved! Normally, he goes to the airport all unshaven, looking like a terrorist. Since Dick is a funny-boy and wants to mess with the security guys, he starts chatting with them: “So, this is completely random. It has nothing to do with the fact that I’m Persian and from Iran.” In the end, Dick and the guys were all joking around like they were long-time buddies. That’s the effect Dick has on people. He’s completely personable and OBVIOUSLY not a part of some Muslim Extremist Terrorist Group. These guys from the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) must not have had a chance to read Fun with Jane and Dick yet.

So, now Dick has  missed his flight and the next one is not direct and doesn’t get in until 7pm. Therefore, I get a few more hours to spend with my friend. I meet her at a cute country gas station close to where she lives. We’re out in the country  fo’ reals but it’s extremely quaint and beautiful.

 

I’m PRETTY sure they mispelled “kountry” on purpose. LOL. J.K.

DAISY AND HER DUCKS

This is my dear friend and proud mom of three boys, Daisy Duck. Props to her because I don’t know crap about raising boys. I told her that’s why God gave them to her because He knew she could handle it, unlike myself.

We decide to take advantage of the gorgeous spring-like weather and take the kids to the park.

It’s great how kids can get to know eachother in no time and it’s like they’ve been friends forever.

 

 

The boys brought some snacks to share…Teddy Graham Crackers, which my girls were super excited about since Mommy doesn’t hardly buy these things. Louise even raided my friend’s pantry, almost wiping her out clean, since she was so hungry. Luckily, we head to McDonald’s before Louise eats Daisy out of house and home. We’re just “snacking” though because we’re supposed to meet up with another friend of mine for dinner at a Persian restaurant. I didn’t plan this out well at all.

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Daddy is finally back and the girls couldn’t be any happier. They missed their Daddy dearly and he missed them just as much or even more.  Daddy is required to sit in the back seat since he’s missed so much and Mommy? Where else but driving. I’m the taxicab driver remember?

We eat again and have dinner at a wonderful Persian restaurant with our dear friend. I must have been so excited by all the delicious food I forgot to take pictures. Dang. I guess it is a Greedy Mole.

 

Stuff and ready to sleep, but we still have to drive 3 hours to get home. We finally get home at around 1AM. Man, it’s been really busy these last few days.
