A couple of years ago I started “Family Arts and Crafts Time” for our family. I would go to the dollar store and buy something we could paint and then we would paint them at home one night as a fun family project. We have a few completed projects:
The Birdhouse Series.
The Seashell Series.
In each series, you can really see our different personalities reflected in our individual work.
Can you guess which belongs to who?
THE FLOWER SERIES
And now our latest, The Flower Series.
We’ve been working on this series for a while, well, at least I have.
It’s take a few trials so we’ve been painting over our work to get it just the way we like it.
DICK’S FLOWER
He makes me laugh so much.
Yes honey, I know, I’m so lucky to have such a funny husband.
THELMA’S FLOWER
LOUISE’S FLOWER
JANE’S FLOWER
My flower has changed a million times. I’ll paint it and then decide I hate it and start over.
Here’s my first attempt. A vomitous heart creation that looks like I used that bubble T-shirt poofy paint.
Disgust.
Then it was this pink black and white camo looking crap.
Then, this blue abstract silliness.
Actually, there were a few other attempts in between but I didn’t take pictures of those failures.
Finally, I decide on this as the one side…
I love it!
And this on the other…
Eh, not that crazy about this side but whatever.
I’m tired of painting it now and the paint is getting clumpy due to too many layers.
THE FINAL FLOWER SERIES
Here it is…
The front.
The back.
