Oink Oink. We have been plagued with the Swine Flu. :(

You never think it’s going to happen to you, until well, IT DOES. Also known as H1N1, flu from pigs is what it is. Sounds disgusting huh? Now it’s spreading from human to human. Google Health says the following about Swine Flu:

Swine influenza is flu virus usually found in pigs. The virus occasionally changes (mutates) and becomes infectious in humans. When this happens, the disease becomes a concern to humans, who have little or no immunity against it. This means the virus has the potential to spread quickly around the world. It also may be more difficult to treat than the usual, seasonal human flu viruses.
Symptoms of H1N1 flu infection in humans are similar to classic flu-like symptoms, which might include:  Fever above 100.4 °F, Cough, Sore throat, Headache, Chills, Muscle aches, Diarrhea, Vomiting.
My poor girls and I have almost all those symptoms. We all have 101°F - 102°F fever. I’m aching all over, moving at a snail’s pace, coughing my lungs up, sleeping all day, my stomach feels like I’ve done a million crunches, and every time I blow my nose, my head feels like it is going to explode into a million pieces.
To appease my mom, we go to the pediatrician, even though I know I’m going for nothing.

So get there and we wait…

And wait…Finally, we get admitted to a room.

But then we still wait…

And wait…

And wait.

(Here Louise is propping her face against the “bed” so that she can rest her heavy head.)

The doctor does a test for swine flu and tells us it’s going to take another 15 minutes. It’s freakin’ cold inside the office so we decide to wait outside.

And, we’re waiting, yet again…

My girls are so Vietnamese in the way they sit. LOL

Poor things are so tired.

After nearly 2 hours in the doctor’s office, he finally confirms that yes, we have swine flu. Actually, the girls have swine flu but I’m pretty sure that means I have it too by default. Plus, I have the same symptoms. He says that they’re not giving medication to patients unless they have other health issues and since my girls are pretty healthy, all they need is rest and lots of fluids. Nice. Two hours in the doctors office when I could have been at home. So, we follow doctors orders.

I hate seeing my poor girls so pathetic and not their usual energetic self. Luckily, we’re recovering well.

I guess this is God’s way of telling me I need to slow my roll.
