I was going thru my old room at my mom’s house. She’s your typical Vietnamese woman that keeps everything. Although I’m not usually a fan of hoarding, there are some things that bring back so many memories and give me a good laugh. So, I think this might be a series of posts as there is plenty of material.
THE GREEN INDEX CARD BOX
One of the things I found was this index card holder. Can you tell it was from the 80s? It’s army green, made of some kind of metal and is starting to rust.
I used to use this index card holder to hold a few things of importance like…
LIST OF CLOTHES WORN
A weekly list of the clothes of the clothes I wore for that week.
Why you ask?
Because I had this crazy rule that I could not wear the same outfit for at least 3 weeks! Hence, I had to track what I wore so I could remember to ensure there were no repeats.
I’m not sure what year this is from but I think it was when I was in middle school. So we’re talkin’ the late 80s and I’m about 11-12 years old.
Monday: Apparently I liked dressing risquee…a sheer shirt.
Tuesday: Pscho has always been appealing to me.
Wednesday: “Changing Man” sweatshirt. Does anyone remember how fashionable it was to have shirts that changed color when the sun shined on it. Mine was awesome! My sweatshirt was of this guy in a dark suit and whenever he got hot, his suit would disappear and he would be wearing shorts. Amazing!
Thursday: I have no idea why I would be wearing Pink LaCoste (you know, the alligator) shorts. I can’t even spell “shourts”. Engineers are known to be bad spellers.
Friday: Now you all know you owned at least one IOU shirt in your lifetime. I think I had like 5.
