Before I leave LA to come back to Metropolis, the girls and I dine with Lucy and Ricky as one of our last meals together. They take us to a fantastic restaurant called Gyu-Kaku…a Japanese BBQ restaurant.
If you’ve never had Japanese or Korean BBQ (practically the same thing), you are missing out! At the restaurant, there is a small grill right in the middle of your table. This is where you are going to grill your own food.
Depending on what you order, the server will bring out plates of raw vegetables and pre-marinated raw meats and fish.
We order some marinated beef and some Kobe beef.
The Kobe beef is super expensive and you know why?
It’s because in Kobe, Japan they personally massage these cows, feed them the best food they can eat, and play classical music for the cows…thereby making them extremely tender, loving peaceful, happy cows that are yummy to eat. Sounds so terrible when put that way but it’s true.
We also ordered this great fried rice that is fried because this stone bowl is SUPER HOT.
DESSERT
For dessert, we ordered banana ice cream. Vanilla ice cream with a side of chocolate syrup and in the foil are some bananas that you must grill first.
I think Lucy is chiding Ricky about something and Louise is thinking…
“Hmmm, how are you going to get yourself out of this one….”
Add the banana to the ice cream.
Top it off with some syrup.
Why yes, it was quite a hit.
Thank you AGAIN for a lovely and yummy evening guys!!
