Removing Fall Leaves, Round 2.

So, last time, round one was using my handy dandy backpack leaf blower. (Click HERE for that post.). This time, there’s not as many leaves so I use my Husquevarna riding lawn mower to mulch up the leaves and push them to the side.

Even though it is sunny today, there is a breeze and it’s chilly. I feel the need for a scarf and gloves because this Vietnamese girl hates to be cold! I’m from the tropics, what did you expect??? I really don’t know how I ever survived the winters in Detroit and Toronto. There, it gets to -40F with windchill on some days and that’s friggin’ cold!

How cold does it get in Detroit and Toronto? It would be so cold that if your nose ran, your face would be frozen so you wouldn’t be able to sniff the runnings back up to prevent it from going down into your mouth. It would also be so cold that if it did, it would freeze to your face on its way down. It would be SO COLD that your nose hairs have now become little mini frozen icicles. And it would be so cold that it is not uncommon for me to have to wear pantyhose then long underwear, then pants, an undershirt then a shirt, then a sweater, then a long wool coat, a scarf, a hat, gloves and boots. That’s how cold it would be.

NO MORE BLOWING. TIME FOR MOWING.

There’s not as many leaves in Round 2 so using the leaf blower isn’t necessary. Since I don’t have a bagger to collect all the mulched up crap that gets blown to the side of my mower and because I don’t want to rake them and scoop them up by hand, I take the lazy mower’s route. My methodology is simple…work your way down the middle and outward to the sides, pushing the leaves to where all the existing bushes are.

Or, I push the remnants to the middle of the driveway, where I will blow them in a single pile and pick them up.

Sometimes I think I must look like a crazy woman since I’m going around and around in circles, running over the leaves until they are in a neat pile all crushed up. To passersby, it doesn’t look like I’m mowing over anything and just going in circles. Koo-Koo!

Using the lawn mower for round two takes much less time and my grass is now even,  a perfectionist’s dream.

Dick is NOT ALLOWED to do the yardwork. Not only does he NOT cut it neatly, but all the remnants are left in the yard, thereby making my yard look like someone crapped all over it!

Yes, I like yardwork. Weird, I know. I love having a clean yard. Makes me super happy!

I think Dick does it wrong on purpose….That’s a lot of yardwork to up keep. Your driveway is so long! Pretty cool.
