I have been wanting to see Avatar long before it came out but haven’t been able to go see it until now. Of course, by now, it’s raked in a record $2.5 Billion worldwide and James Cameron will continue to rake in bazillions of dollars until long after he’s gone.
I really didn’t know what the story was about but I knew that graphically, I could not miss seeing it on the big screen…especially in 3-D.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE 3-D.
So Dick, the girls and I go, but we miss like the first 20 minutes because we walked to the movie theater and we’re late. I love watching the Previews so I know what I want to watch next so I’m super disappointed to miss the preview let alone the movie. Of course, they always make the trailers so good that every time Dick and I are watching the preview, we’re always like, “Oh, let’s watch that one! Oh, that one looks good! This one we gotta see!”.
There’s hardly anyone in the theater since it’s daytime and during the workweek but since Avatar is 3-D, I like to sit up front…makes it all the more vivid and realistic. Now, I’ve tried sitting in the very first row and although you definitely feel like you can reach out and touch someone, you’re neck is going to be completely strained not to mention you might end up CROSS-EYED.
We sit at the end of the first section (probably like row 7). Seeing Avatar in 3-D was just amazing!
I wanna live in Pandora, join the Navii and be an Avatar!! Pandora is like the perfect Eden.
The actress who plays Neytiri, Zoe Saldana, did an AMAZING job in portraying this super-strong, indigenous girl. I have never seen her in movies before but I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of her after this. I just loved Neytiri. She’s one bad-ass Avatar chick.
And Sam Worthington, who plays Jake Sully, is now one of my friends new Celebrity crush. Previously it was Gerard Butler. Girl’s got good taste I must say.
I didn’t realize though that Same Worthington was the same guy who played that Stone Cold Cop Terminator in Terminator 2. He looks SOOOOOO much better in this movie.
I can see why she would fancy him. He plays the quintessential strong, bad boy with HEART that swoops in to save the day, every girls dream. (Except for the hard-core Feminists.)
Avatar was definitely action packed, visually stimulating and had a great story line with many underlying spiritual, environmental and humanistic themes could definitely translate to our own world today. And, although Avatar will definitely take you on a stimulating adventure, I hope that people can take away alot more from the movie than that.
And despite receiving rave reviews and high critical acclaim, Avatar has also been highly criticized, with protests from some for being racial. Common people, can’t we just enjoy a movie and appreciate it’s cinematography and that it provides good entertainment for us?!?!? Why’s it always got to be a race thing!
Well, this Jane and Dick family THOROUGHLY enjoyed the movie. Entertainment at its best. Five thumbs up.
-Jane, Avatar Fan.
