Lucy Lu and I love to play board games. Boggle is one of the favorites.
I must tell you I kick ass in this game. Yes, I’m competitive and I will kick your ass in this game too.
I like to play against other people who are feverishly competitive like me. Makes it SO much more fun. Good sportsmanship is still a must though. Giver-uppers are losers and boring.
Lucy is somewhat competitive but she knows from experience that I am fierce at these kind of games.
However tonight I’m a little bit slower than usual. I’m functioning somewhat on about 4-5 hours of sleep because I was up wrapping presents. And yes, I’ve had a few glasses of wine.
But Lucy is working exra hard to beat me this time.
In the end, she edges me out by a mere 2 points!
40-38!!
Now, we added our own rule to the game. If you write a word that is not really a word and are challenged by your opponent on the validity of that word, then…
1) If you are correct, the other player must deduct the points the word is worth from their score.
2) If your word is indeed a totally made-up word (you must agree on a dictionary), then you must deduct the word worth from your score.
So, had I not tried to get away with “OATHED” and “PEZ“, I would have totally won this game!
