Dick and I happened to be on the other side of town so we decided to pop into a Goodwill there to see what they have since it’s bigger than the one close to us.
I give away alot of stuff to Goodwill but I also like to shop there. Some of my most favorite things were found at Goodwill.
It’s like a treasure hunt for me to go through all the crap and find the “treasure”.
You have to really look. And sometimes you don’t find anything. But, sometimes you do.
For me, it’s even more of a treasure because besides sometimes finding truly unique items, I’ve paid SO MUCH LESS for it that I wouldn’t be able to find my item for that price anywhere else!
I also like to think of buying things at Goodwill as a type of “recycling” instead of purchasing new things that will eventually fill up all the massive landfills on our Earth.
OUR FINDS
So, what did we get?
To start, I spot these shoes. They’re almost like new.
A good cleaning inside and out and these will be hot with some jeans!
WE NEED A JUICER
Dick has been wanting to get a new juicer for fresh squeezed orange juice. Ours makes this insanely loud screeching when you press the orange down and Dick didn’t want another one like that. He was looking for one of those old-school presses but ran across this…which Dick was willing to try.

Sure, Juicers are not all that expensive but I just paid $3 instead of $20 or more for good ones. You can’t get coupons that would give you that kind of a discount so I’d say that’s pretty good.
Dick and the girls test it. Works fabulously!
PYREX
I spot these retro old school glass containers that are superb!
It turns out they are Pyrex!

If you don’t know, Pyrex is a high quality, super-durable glass that is oven-safe and is also used for food storage. It is not cheap to if you’re comparing other plastic tupperware containers and especially with those disposable ones that people just wash and reuse.
However, there are many recent studies that toxic stuff is leaking into your food from plastic containers so storing food in Glass is SO MUCH BETTER.

The lids are glass too! Telling from the color of the containers, I’m pretty sure these are from the 70s. I love the retro look!
PERSIAN TEA GLASSES
I always love to look through all the glassware because I love glass..different color glasses and unique.
I find these large glasses that are perfect for Persian black tea! It’s a steal at $1 each.
I find alot of sets of 5. I think it’s because it probably comes as a set of 6 and one gets broken.
I could care less if there are five because I’m sure to break one anyway.
All of these glasses except the clear ones came from Goodwill (only the gray ones on the far left were bought today).
I just love them!
I like having different glasses for different drinks, different moods, and different quantities.
GLASS BOWLS
Dick spots these glass bowls that he thinks would be great for eating cereal or for yogurt.
A SINGLE STEIN
Dick spots a single beer stein that is really nice. I can tell this is going to be his new special, daily beer glass.
He puts it in the freezer like the bars do.
PLATES
Dick spots these heavy-duty plates that I only like so-so. Of course, he loves them BECAUSE they are heavy-duty.
“I’m Persian honey. We like only the best so quality is important.”
LMAO. Whatever.
I’m not crazy about the color but I think I can find some thing colorful to go with it. Plus, they’re heavy as hell, like cast iron…which is why Dick likes them. These are not going to break!
HIPPY CHIC
So, I’m on my way out to pay for everything when this colorful dress catches my eye.
I think it has potential but I’m too lazy to try it on so I just slip it right off the dummy.
This dress is brand new!
Brand new, it was $72!
I get it for $12!
EVERYTHING FOR HOW MUCH???
Of course, after I bring everything home, I wash & Oxyclean it all.
So that’s it, I bought all of this…
ALL of it, for $44.94!!
That’s including tax and I didn’t even feature the salt & pepper shakers, the small flower pot and the smoky gray glasses.
Wow.
You must be able to see the potential in things to come home with good finds.
