Having owned the non-self cleaning kind of ovens for a long time, this Jane totally loves using the self-cleaning function on my oven.
BEFORE
Here’s the before, with lots of spilled cheese from pizzas and other random stuff that has fallen and burnt to a crisp.
Yes, it’s quite nasty.

SELF-CLEAN
My oven automatically locks itself after you start the self-cleaning cycle. There’s no stopping it now for another 4 hours. The over gets super hot and basically nukes everything until it turns to ashes.
AFTER
Then all you have to do is wipe it down with a wet sponge, paper towel, or dishrag.
Ta-da!
Looks like new!
No need for harsh chemicals to remove all that gunk! Only problem is that it does make your house smell like something is burning for those 4 hours. I like to only start the cycle when I know we’ll be gone. I don’t like for us to breath those bad fumes.
Loves it!!
