This is a mask Lucy Lu gave me to wear for my Goth birthday party. Thelma is going to be using it for her costume for her skating competition coming up. She liked it so much she decided she was going to wear it out while we’re running errands.
Although I’m not really crazy about her wearing this out and I know that people are going to be looking at her, why should I stop her? She likes it and obviously she doesn’t care if she gets stared at. I don’t want my kids to be a self-conscious and care what others think, so I let her.
Very seldom do I pick what they wear. Unless it’s completely inappropriate, I let my kids wear whatever they want…matching or not, weird or not, fashionable or not, wrinkled or not. When they were little we’d walk around the grocery store with the girls wearing Snow White and Cinderella costumes.
Even still, as we’re walking into Walmart, I’m feeling like Michael Jackson making his kids wear masks.
