June Cleaver and I became good friends when Thelma was in public school for Kindergarten. One of the few good things that came out of that. June and I connected right away being that June is also an exceptional artist, she’s groovy, down-to-earth and unpretentious…she’s not your typical “Mommy” and isn’t phased by some of my crazy ways, like pulling up to the school to pick up my child, blasting Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop” in the car.
I remember when we first tried to get our girls together for a play date. Being pretty straightforward and because I didn’t think I would actually meet another Mom around where I live that I wanted to hang out with nor having time to make new friends, I told June the truth about me being lazy to drive and that I totally don’t mind having her daughter come over to play but for me to do the reverse would be difficult. She didn’t seem to care and I thought…I like this chica.

GREAT FRIENDS
Our kids are super great friends, which makes it even easier for June and I to hang out while the kids are playing.
GOOD WINE. GOOD MUSIC.
June and I share other similar interests too like good red wine and good music.
HAPPY SURPRISE
One day I came home to a lovely surprise.
June, knowing I enjoy good dance, groovy, funky, jazzy music (basically any kind of music), makes me two compilations of music.
JANE’S TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL MIX
JANE’S HOT MOMMA MIX

Actually, June had been promising to make me a CD like 6 months ago but couldn’t figure out which blank discs to use CDR + or -. You know how this is. You’ve been there. Anyway, I was hassling my friend because I was in dire need to listen to some new music. OMG, the mixes she made me are Da Bomb! Girlfriend and I are on the same wavelength with music.
If you love music that will make your body move, check out some of the title songs and artists at the end of the post.
RIGHT SONG + WRONG TIMING = EMBARRASSING MOMENT
If you haven’t noticed, I haven’t been posting as much these days. A couple of reasons for that. I’ve been super-duper busy AND I have been without internet for a ONE WHOLE WEEK since we’re transitioning to a new provider. So, the only times that I have had access to the internet were when I went over to Fanny Mae’s house.
Internet, oh how I have missed you dearly. It’s hard to be without internet. It has become such a integral part of our daily lives for work and information and communication that I was perturbed on many occasions when I couldn’t check email, write posts, go on Facebook, go on Perez, or check the weather.
So, the service guys are at my house, wiring and making sure my internet works. They were working on the computer in the playroom so I was working on the computer in the office, ecstatic that I had internet for the first time in a week! I was also listening to the “Hot Momma Mix” that June had given me. Then, the service guy is back in the office to check to make sure the wiring is installed properly.
There is also another service guy that had come to assist. Although not loudly, my music was going and it’s all you can hear in the quiet of the house since Dick and the girls are still asleep. What’s the song playing on the “Hot Momma Mix” CD?
Macy Gray’s SEXUAL REVOLUTION!
Click HERE to listen to the song so you can fully imagine how I felt with this song playing in the quiet of the morning getting my internet installed. Now just picture me standing there while the one service guy is under the desk (with my millions of wires) and the other service guy is just standing there like me…watching as well…with Macy Gray’s Sexual Revolution in the background.
Talk about a weird, uncomfortable silence especially because we’re at the chorus where the girls sing “Sexual Revolution” over and over again. It’s the kind of uncomfortable like watching a TV/Movie sex scene with your parents. I mentally freakin’ out, not knowing what to do. I didn’t want to suddenly just turn off the music and bring attention to it. I couldn’t do anything but just stand there and endure the embarrassing situation and wait for the song to change, which felt like forever. Oh well, yet another embarrassingly funny moment for Jane.

MY FAVES
My faves? I really love Buttons by Pussycat Dolls feat Snoop Dog and I’m totally into Lady Gaga’s new song Bad Romance. That girl kicks so much as on so many levels! Push by Enrique is totally sexy. He’s not too bad to look at either. Closer by Ne-Yo completely puts me back to driving in my convertible on a summer night in downtown Toronto. Miss that so much! Of course, what started the request for music was Kanye West’s Heartless. I LOVE that song. A Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins is super funky 70s and I think I remembering it being on the Charlie’s Angels Movie.
Lastly, there was one jazzy, funky, french countryside sounding song that I have never heard of but has quickly become one of my favorites…Koop Island Blues by Koop. You MUST MUST MUST hear this song!!! So lovely. Click HERE to see/listen to this PROVACATIVE and SENSUAL song/video. You’re gonna love it!!!
