So, I’m driving back from my parents house and I see a dead skunk in the road. It always makes me sad to see dead animals that have been hit by cars on the street and I always try to remember to say a small prayer for them. But, it’s weird because any time I pass roadkill, I know it’s gross but I just want to see it. Is that crazy? Intrigue is not the word but it’s a strange interest looking at death in the face. So sad yet a part of life. I point it out to my kids and they want to see it too!
It’s hard to see from the back seat of the car, so I let the kids get out to get a closer look. I know, I’m a crazy mom. Not only is there a dead skunk, but just like ten feet away is a dead oppossum! This one is definitely not “playing” dead since it’s guts are gushing out. My kids don’t seemed phased by it though. We were all like “Ew, gross!”, but we were still looking!
So, below are pictures of the roadkill. The skunk isn’t so bad but the possum ones are pretty disgusting. If you have a weak stomach, DO NOT CONTINUE READING!!!
Do you look at roadkill too or am I the only sick and crazy one here?
Who cleans this stuff off the road? That must be one of the worst jobs ever!
