The room still needs more umph. BOLD is BEAUTIFUL.
THE VICTORIAN TABLE
I remember that I have an old ornate, although intricately molded plastic, table that looks like it was from the LOUIS XIV days. It’s in my shed collecting dust because two of it’s legs have fallen off. I kept it all this time thinking I would repair it when I had the time. Yeah.
Well, now’s the time! I repair the legs and think this table would look just SPECTACULAR in HOT pink.
In all my excitement to paint the table, I almost forgot to get a BEFORE picture.
While I’m finishing painting the table, not pictured is my dear friend JUNE CLEAVER, who came over to keep me company while paint.
She and I are like twins separated at birth except she’s Caucasian, I’m Vietnamese and she’s very tall whereas I’m not. I guess we’re more like Ahh-nahld and Danny Devito twins from the TWINS movie. Love that movie!
June and I both love art and enjoy good wine, conversation, and music. She’s my muse and I’m so glad she stopped by for some good wine, conversation, music and ART…my latest decorating project.
BOLD TRIMMING
I’m pretty pleased with the way the table turned out but then being the AH-TIST that she is, June sees that the table would look great with a contrasting color for the pre-existing border trim around the face of the table. Maybe that light pink I fucked up? Maybe white? Silver?
I go for BOLD yet again. BLACK!
Instead of going to pay for another quart of black paint, I use my black craft paint at home.
It’s ACRYLIC too and only $2 versus $17!
This trim was not easy to paint.
You MUST have a steady hand because it’s not something you can tape up.
It has to be totally FREE HANDED.
It took me longer than I thought for this trim but it was so well worth it!
I LOVE IT!!!
I love it when I can take something old and make it useable and FABULOUS!
Are you starting to see the room come together???

haha, love the “Twins” reference. I laughed out loud. The table turned out fantastic – the black ribbon was just what it needed. Do the girls LOVE their room (and their cool mom)?
