A few weeks ago, Dick and I attended the wedding of some dear friends of mine, Tiffany and Patrick. You may remember Tiffany from the Bruchetta Recipe Post. She’s the founder of GoBigHead.com. The ceremony was touching, the wedding decor was gorgeous, and the Bride was glowing.
I was super-duper flattered when they asked if I would do the photography for their wedding but as much as I LOVE the kinds of pictures that weddings can produce, I do not enjoy wedding photography. People tell me all the time that I should do weddings, there’s tons of money in it, etc. but money is not worth it to me if it’s going to bring me tons of stress. And everyone knows WEDDINGS ARE STRESSFUL. Plus, I love being a guest, enjoying myself at weddings, and catching up with old friends.
IF YOU’RE NOT THERE ON TIME, YOU’RE NOT GETTING IN!!
So, we’re late because Louise was sick with a fever and was vomiting. Thelma had just had it and of course, it tagged our dear Louise. I knew though after she puked that she would start to feel better since whatever-it-was was leaving her body. I didn’t want to miss my friends’ special day so Fanny Mae picked up the girls and Dick and I were off to the wedding. Tiffany and Patrick had specifically put in their wedding invitation map that time was of the essence and that if you were late, you weren’t getting in until the reception. So, I was stressin’ Dick to get us there on time. Luckily, we squeeze in at the last minute and I’m sure all the guests were disappointed to see us appear when instead they were expecting to see the start of the wedding.
I LEFT MY CAMERA AT HOME!!
Since we’re rushing and late, I leave my Canon 40D SLR at home and all I have with me is my tiny Canon SD 800IS Point and Shoot. Dayum!! Ok, I have to remind myself. I’m not the photographer. I’m a guest. Anyway, I’m still kicking myself for not bringing that camera because there were so many beautiful shots to be had and I missed so many great ones because the SD 800 can’t perform the way I want it to. Therefore, all the pics on this post were taken with that little camera. I guess the only positive is that I didn’t have to lug my enormous 40D around.
The drive there was a picturesque counrty-side full of spectacular fall colors. I’ve never thought about a fall wedding. In my mind, it’s always summer and hot. But, this was truly a lovely scene.
THE LOCATION
An artistically modern structure sitting at the edge of a pond with a massive picturesque window with views of the fall mountains and still waters.
THE DECOR
THE PROCESSIONAL
Most of my shots of the procession didn’t turn out but I was able to get some.
The Mother of the Bride
The Father of the Bride as well as the Bride. Beautiful.
SO ROMANTIC
This is just too sweet! Patrick comes back down the aisle with a basket of rose petals to adorn the walkway for his beautiful bride.
HERE COMES THE BRIDE
THE CEREMONY AND VOWS
It actually was a good thing I wasn’t the photographer because their genuine, from-the-heart vows just brought me to tears. For sure I would have missed those critical moments they want captured because my eyes were clouded by an unstoppable stream of tears listening to the promises they made to each other. Tiffany and Patrick’s immense love and respect for each other was apparent and they, themselves, became so emotional that it brought the onslaught of tears for many a people in that room. Dick was just laughing at how mushy I can get sometimes.
I told you it was a tear-jerker of a ceremony. Even her sister is wiping away tears.
I think Tiffany and Patrick have come about as close as anyone could to love at first sight. I remember Tiffany talking about going on a blind date and that’s why she had to miss my Goth birthday party. (I ain’t mad at cha!) I was just happy to see her excited about someone special and I had the feeling that this was not just another guy. And even though they met, fell in love, and got married in a matter of around 8 months, you know that this one is truly forever.
YOU MAY KISS THE BRIDE
Patrick planted a good one on his new wife. The guests were gettin’ hot just watchin’ those two…saying things like “Breath” and “Save it for the Honeymoon”! LOL
THE JUMPING OF THE BROOM
This is the first time I’ve seen this tradition! I like the meaning behind it. I would just be worried that if it were me, I’d fall flat on my face. Thankfully, these two lovebirds had enough balance that this did not happen. Since I was sitting in the back, I couldn’t get a good picture but here are a couple of the broom.
THE RECESSIONAL
While the trip down the aisle was sweet, soft and lovely, the return trip was like a party! Jammin’ music and the wedding party got down! So fun!!
First the Bride and Groom
Tiffany catches a glimpse of me. I love her infectious smile and laughter!!
Looking back at all the fun everyone is having.
Her sister looks fab in this color.
Oh yeah, I’d say they’re having fun.
Mom and Dad aren’t going to be left out of any good times.
I can’t believe how young her parents look. What’s your secret???
Patricks family is boogying down!
And with a little coaxing, the Reverend was not about to be the party pooper. Reverend’s got some funky moves!
THE RECEPTION
I absolutely love the consistent color scheme for the theme of their wedding with shades of orange and green. Just stunning!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us.

My husband and I were guests, too, and thought it was a very special wedding, indeed. I’ve never seen so many people – including men – crying. And then laughing at the recessional! It was an emotional roller coaster – one I’m glad I got to ride! Great job on the blog, too!
