Our “winter storm” came. Only, it wasn’t really a storm. We get some snow but nothing like a foot or anything. I was hoping for at least 8 inches but alas, no.

No matter, it’s BEAUTIFUL outside and we’re going for a walk. When you have snow and ice covering everything, it’s like a whole new world. We want to go explore it. It’s such a beautiful winter wonderland!
So we get all bundled up and decide to go walk to a local restaurant for lunch.
We bring laundry baskets because we don’t have sleds and there’s a great hill right behind my house.
Oh, there’s 2 teenage boys who are already sliding down the hill.
They get super excited to see us when they see we’re using laundry baskets.
In you go…

We have to hang on to the girls and their baskets because the slope is pretty steep.
Dang, my back is killing me!
We make it down, safe and sound.
These guys are having a blast on their saucers!
This guy takes a family pic for us. Thanks Dude!
We’re off again. It’s still coming down but in small bits.
It’s cold but we made sure to bundled up really good because walking when you’re cold is NO FUN.
Oops, someone fell. LOL. Bad mom.

All the trees are covered with icicles.
Many businesses are closed.
We finally get to the restaurant we want to eat at.
I run into a coach that used to coach at my high school. He wasn’t my coach, I just remembered him. Super nice guy.
We decide we want to continue walking and enjoy the brisk fresh air and fantastic scenery.
The kids want to get a close look at the frozen pond.
I’m not fishing you guys outta there if you fall in!
We get to a department store and the girls have a blast testing out all the beds. They think this is a size we can buy and don’t realize that it’s just a display. Sorry girls, maybe Mommy can make you a custom bed.
My battery on my camera has run out of battery so I didn’t get any of the walk back. Anyways, we had such a great time enjoying the cold I almost forgot how much I dislike cold weather. I guess it’s ok when you’re all bundled up.
My thoughts are, if it’s going to be cold, might as well just snow. Cold without snow is miserable. Cold with snow is tolerable and beautiful.
