Easy & Yummy Bruschetta with a BIG HEAD

IMG_7335-30

If you’re going to have a guest over for a light meal, consider this fresh, delicious and easy appetizer that can be surprisingly filling. There are many different ways to make bruschetta and this one is simple, tasty, and easy to prepare. I wanted to know more about bruschetta so I googled it. Apparently I’m pronouncing it all wrong! Here’s what Wikipedia had to say about it:

BRUSCHETTA [brus’ketta]: In Italian comes from a word that means “to roast over coals”.

There aren’t any coals involved in this recipe but Wikipedia does mention that it’s all about the toppings!

One of my good friends, Tiffany comes over so that she can help me with none other than this blog! She’s an entrepreneur and has her own company called Go Big Head, a fantastically wicked, out-of-the-box new concept on how you can help promote yourself better and not be just a piece of paper to an employer. If you feel like you’re not standing out among a whole stack of resume’s, you should seriously consider a Video resume!

I thought this was a fantastic, novel idea because it’s so hard to give employers a taste of who you are, your personality, from a boring ole piece of paper that looks just like everyone else’s. This is the new age and Tiffany’s company is forward thinking and will change the way future generations are going to compete in the employment market.

As an Asian  (but not one who wants to get back into the corporate working environment) I feel this is going to be extremely beneficial for many because if it were me submitting my resume to a company, their HR person, or whoever is doing the hiring, probably thinks I’m a male, nerdy Chinese Engineer who speaks broken English. Ok, so I may not speak PROPER English all the time but it’s not broken. It’s silly but I would always have to put “Fluent in English” on my resume. When interviewers talk to me for the first time, they’re somewhat surprised because they were expecting to speak to a dude.

I also know that this beaming personality of mine ain’t comin’ across in a one-page list of jobs and past experiences. For starters, “ain’t” on a resume will probably immediately cause the employer to toss my resume in the shit pile for unintelligent speak. Who remembers as a kid when they would say…”Ain’t ain’t a word and it ain’t in the dictionary.”? So, go on a get yo BIG HEAD in that door!!

Back to the recipe, Tiffany is vegetarian and I decide to make some yummy bruschetta for us to munch on:

I tell Tiffany to pose and look like she’s enjoying my brushetta:

So, what’s the verdict from my dear friend Tiffany???

“This is probably the BEST bruschetta I’ve ever had!!!”

-Tiffany, CEO Go Big Head

Seriously, she said that. I didn’t make her.

Of course it’s the BEST! Remember I’m part Persian.

Awww yeah! Another satisfied customer!
