DICK is driving me around METROPOLIS for a photo project I’m doing with www.buyusafirst.org. John Gibson, CEO of United Intelligence Corporation, is an entrepreneur who has several business of his own and also works as a consultant for women entrepreneurs. John is also my husband’s, mother’s, cousin’s husband. I meet John for the first time in California a month ago and immediately I like him. He’s Super-intelligent, seems to take everything in stride and is always smiling. Doesn’t he look kinda like Bill Gates?

How NOT to hit on a pregnant woman…
By Jane on March 9, 2011
I’m minding my own business and am totally enthralled with the massive amounts of different orchids. My mom had finished looking at the orchids before me (since I was busy taking pictures) and had taken the girls to go ride on a choo-choo train that goes around the mall (Some new gimmick to get more [...]

My New Mi Goi (Ramen). Instructions included.
By Jane on March 1, 2010
Ramen, in Vietnamese, is “Mi Goi“. And I don’t know any Vietnamese people who do not eat “Mi Goi”. If you don’t, I would have to question your true Vietnamese-hood! So, remember I decided to venture out in life and try something new? I decided to try a new ramen that no one recommended to [...]

Article: “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior”: Words from a militant mom who is full of crap.
By Jane on January 14, 2011
One of my dear friends sent me a link to an article about “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior”. Already from the title, I knew what this article was going to be about but I read it anyway to see what kind of crap was going to come spewing out of this woman. She starts out [...]

Homeschooling Field Trip: Part 1 – Parrot Mountain
By Jane on September 27, 2009
I’m taking Thelma and Louise on a field trip with their homeschool co-op. Where are we going today? We’re headed to Parrot Mountain and Wonderworks. Because our co-op scheduled a group tour, we were able to get a discount at Parrot Mountain for only $5 per child, one parent is free. Also, Wonderworks was running [...]

Your daily Benz: Benz and Piggy.
By Jane on June 22, 2011
Benz’s head often falls to the side, making him look so cockeyed. So, I looked around to see what I could put there to straighten him up a bit. Piggy fit quite nicely. Benz seemed to think so too…look how he’s holding on to it’s feet. -Jane, Mommy to Sweet Benz.

My THREE kids. More of the girls and their bro.
By Jane on July 8, 2011
Although we didn’t plan it this way, having a baby years after the older sister has worked out superb for us. I have the best helpers and big sisters a Mommy could ever ask for. Thelma and Louise just adore their little bro. I’m still not used to saying I have THREE kids, not to [...]

Update on my feet picking/dermatillomania issue: My feet have healed!
By Jane on February 11, 2011
It’s been a while since I’ve talked about my horrible habit of picking my feet and I’ve had many inquiries from other feet pickers on my progress. So, I am happy to announce that my feet have fully recovered!! I’ve managed to stop masochistically picking at my feet to the point that they bleed and [...]

My kids have a few jokes to tell.
By Jane on October 1, 2010
Thelma is often telling us jokes that she made up herself. Most times, we have to think about it for a second and then still, she’ll have to explain it to us. Leaving us thinking…hmmmmm. However, it’s usually funny to us because well, (1) we’re her parents and (2) just the innocence of her train [...]

Despite hardly sleeping and drinking the night before, Dick makes it to the LA Marathon!
By Jane on April 2, 2012
Despite drinking with his buddy the night before, Dick is up and ready to head to the marathon at like 5:30am. Dick has to be at the starting line by 7:00am because the marathon starts at 7:30am. That means he has to leave the house by 6 or so to make it downtown on time. [...]

Jane loses humiliation bet but can definitely ROCK a mustache!
By Jane on August 24, 2010
With Lucy and my cousins being in town, we’re playing lots of cards. You remember the popular Vietnamese card game, Tien Len? TIME FOR HUMILIATION BET Normally, I don’t play for money but we had been playing for a little just to make it interesting. Well, it got boring one night while we were at [...]

Some things run in the family… Guess who else has OCD and a feet picking problem? The Queen herself. See people? Socks don’t make a difference…unless they’re made of iron and have padlocks on them before you can take them off. But then, I guess it would be difficult to find shoes to fit over these socks. And, of course, the [...]

We break in June’s new crib for Halloween: Great food, great friends.
By Jane on November 2, 2011
For Halloween, we went over to my friend and partner in crime, June Cleaver’s new house. You may remember, we spent last Halloween together too. June is in the midst of making some of her super yummy Chicken Bacon Chowder and Cheddar Biscuits. Also here is Confuscia, a dear friend that I met through Benz [...]

I saw these rose petals laying around the other day and asked the girls why this rose had been taken apart. I thought there were doing it just for fun or to put in a bath or something. It was a rose from a bundle my dad had bought for my mom for Valentine’s day. [...]

Scammers change it up and still trying to fool landlords on Craigslist.
By Jane on March 1, 2012
I am now an expert at spotting scammers on Craigslist who respond to my rental property ads. Remember the blog I posted to warn other landlords of such schemes? (Click HERE for the article). It used to be they would post this long-ass response to my ad telling me how great they are, how flexible [...]

Boursin Cheese and Mamma Mia starts off 2010 for us.
By Jane on January 1, 2010
It’s about 10:30 when we’re done eating our yummy sushi at Katsuya so we head to Lucy’s house to chill. We’re watching the countdown on CNN but I think it’s a replay of the dropping of the ball in NY’s Time Square. Whatever, it’s still almost midnight for us so we use it as our own West Coast [...]
