If you’re looking for something healthy to eat, then look no more. Everything below is cooked in the oven (minus the salad) so it’s not FRIED. Here is my recipe and directions for making Steelhead Trout, sweet potato fries accompanied with a salad and brown rice. Remember, I do not include amounts as I do [...]

How to cut a Pineapple…as painful as it is.
By Jane on August 30, 2010
Occasionally, we will get a craving for pineapples. I prefer FRESH over CANNED (Healthier, no preservatives, not imported from China, no High Fructose Corn Syrup) and this is the season for it. However, cutting a fresh pineapple is a bit of a PAIN. Not too bad, but for someone like me who doesn’t usually like [...]

I got a good forward the other day…and by “good forward” I mean it wasn’t too long or wordy, had lots of pictures and made me smile. Anything longer than and page with lots of words and no pictures will SURELY not be read if you forward it to me. This particular forward was full [...]

The girls noticed a pay phone the other day and commented: “Mommy look! You don’t see much of these anymore!” So true. With the advent of the cell phone, who needs a pay phone these days? Good riddens though. The earpiece on those things are nasty! The last time I used one was over ten [...]

SOCCER TIME: First Soccer Practice for Spring!
By Jane on March 11, 2011
It’s that time of the year and Thelma couldn’t be more excited. It’s SOCCER TIME! I take Thelma to her first soccer practice for the season. I opt to watch from my car today because I forgot my chair. And, today is crazy windy and cold. Plus, to keep myself entertained, I brought along a [...]

Benz’s Bunz are the Best…a booty call I’m down for!
By Jane on December 11, 2011
Because the baby age flies by, I wanted to try to capture some of Benz’s nooks, crannies, rolls so that we could somewhat “preserve” this age. The softest part of his skin is his back and stomach. It’s so velvety soft. One of my favorite parts of his body is his neck. You may even [...]

It’s a very quiet and chill Christmas for us and we love it! Time to recuperate, regenerate and get ready for the NEW YEAR! We are so thankful for all that we have and all the blessings in our lives…most importantly FAMILY, HEALTH, and HAPPINESS. I’m glad to say there is nothing that I neither [...]

Thelma goes CRAZY at crazy clothes day at our homeschool co-op.
By Jane on February 18, 2011
Our co-op often has a special day where the kids can dress up. We have pajama day, crazy hair day, crazy hat day, etc. Today was crazy clothes day and Thelma threw something together that morning. Pretty crazy that girl and she didn’t even have any help from her crazy Momma. I stopped dressing them [...]

Our Thanksgiving: Family, Fun, and Food.
By Jane on November 26, 2010
So as I mentioned in my Thanksgiving message yesterday, we started out our day by taking a walk around my parent’s neighborhood. It was such a beautiful day! WALKING COOKING After our walk, Lucy and I got to cooking, along with Louise’s help.

Louise not feeling well. A LAZY DAY is just the cure.
By Jane on April 8, 2010
Louise was not feeling well at all the other day, can you tell? Girlfriend had a cough and stomach ache. Since it was a co-op day, Thelma went to class while Louise just rested at home. Most of the day Louise spent in bed. However, it was such a beautiful day, too beautiful to let go to [...]

How much do you really need to be rich?
By Jane on August 11, 2010
That was the title of the article I came across this article on the homepage of Yahoo. You probably saw it too if Yahoo is your homepage. Click HERE for the article if you have’t seen it. However, before reading the article, I already knew the answer. Yes, I’m Mz. Smarty-pants Jane. “Rich” is not [...]

Enjoying Nature: A picnic by the river in the mountains.
By Jane on September 26, 2009
Every summer we go to the mountains to chill by the river and enjoy the beautiful nature that we have access to. We unplug ourselves for the day since there’s no TV, computers, or cell phone reception. This year, we’ve been so busy that the girls and I have made a few trips with [...]

Smells like poo. Sh**! Literally!
By Jane on December 29, 2010
On our way home from picking up the Futon Mattresses, we’re in the car and I smell something weird. “I smell something.” Dick brushes it off as my sensitivity to smells from being pregnant. “I don’t smell anything. You’re nose is just sensitive right now.” We drive a little further. “Seriously, I smell something. Smells [...]

Homemade chicken noodle soup to stay warm in this cold weather.
By Jane on January 16, 2010
My kids love chicken noodle soup, especially when it’s cold. You don’t need a ton of ingredients and can easily throw it together. This time, I just used what I had. Since I had some chicken thighs in the fridge, I used that to make the broth. It’s fattier, but unfortunately, that’s the fat that makes it tasty.

This DICK doesn’t make beds. Jane pissed. So what if it’s that time of the month?
By Jane on February 18, 2010
Dick has just gotten back from Gotham City and has been sleeping non-stop since then. This is common as he feels it is well deserved since he’s been working and driving the long distance. I do understand that this is no easy task so I let him sleep. I, too, am extremely tired because I [...]

Some New Moon pictures to tease you if you didn’t see it over the opening weekend.
By Jane on November 30, 2009
Dick and I finally took the girls to go see New Moon. All weekend they were asking when we would go. I have to admit, I was very slow to get on the Twilight bandwagon. When Twilight first came out, I thought it was some scary vampire movie. I don’t watch horror movies so I [...]

Laundry, laundry…and more laundry!
By Jane on October 4, 2009
Um, seriously? I can’t seem to ever catch up on laundry. One would think that I would be super-anal about laundry but the exact opposite is actually true. I don’t sort whites and colors. I mix in the linens with the clothes. I try to cram as much into the machine as I possible can. [...]

Jane: Shooting a commercial for HGTV Fine Living.
By Jane on January 18, 2010
As I mentioned, occassionally, Dick and I and the girls do some small-time modeling/acting on the side. It’s fun and it’s really nice to unexpectedly get a check in the mail every now and then. I get a call last week from my agent saying that HGTV would like to use me for another Fine Living [...]

My favorite toothbrush. Economical and Ecological.
By Jane on September 9, 2010
It is reported that 50 million pounds of toothbrushes are dumped into landfills yearly. That’s alot of freakin’ toothbrushes. I’ve always wanted to recycle and have been just too lazy to. No more excuses and this family finally on the recycle bandwagon. In addition to recycling, I figure why not use ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY toothbrushes? Made by [...]
