Our swim team had their first mock swim meet. Since we’ve never been on a swim team before, this was interesting to see and experience.I was amazed at how much work has to be done for a swim meet.

The family goes to see Avatar. It does not disappoint!!
By Jane on March 3, 2010
I have been wanting to see Avatar long before it came out but haven’t been able to go see it until now. Of course, by now, it’s raked in a record $2.5 Billion worldwide and James Cameron will continue to rake in bazillions of dollars until long after he’s gone. I really didn’t know what [...]

Do you think a cop would give this guy a ticket?
By Jane on July 21, 2010
One of the biggest pains about being in a big city is parking. Street parking is allowed, you just have to pay the meter…and remember to keep paying it. Wonder if this guy paid the meter…I don’t see a stub. More than that, I wonder if the Toronto police would give this person a ticket. [...]

Baby Bellas and Basil Vegetarian Spaghetti Recipe.
By Jane on February 3, 2012
I haven’t been doing too many recipe blogs because they usually take me too long but this one was a special request and is real simple and easy. Since Dick has had his Koontitis issues, he’s gone Vegetarian…and actually VEGAN. So, I’m cooking more vegetarian dishes these days. The kids and I still eat meat, [...]

The Girls find their Best Friends of Gotham City.
By Jane on December 8, 2010
This is Dick’s good friend, Mr. Bean, who Dick has known for over 20 years. However, since having kids, they had not seen each other in a long while. So we got our kids together and they immediately the kids just connected. They all played like they’ve known each other their whole lives.

My girls inherited their Dad’s dominant “curly-hair” gene. Well, Thelma more than Louise. Thelma’s hair has this lovely curl at the ends of her hair that makes her hair look effortlessly stylish. Super cute. I love it! The curls are even more prominent in the summer. Asians, because most of us have naturally straight hair [...]

Happy Halloween!! You want Sponge Bob on our Pumpkin???
By Jane on October 31, 2009
Remember when we went to the Mayfield Corn Maze? Well, I picked up a good size pumpkin there and it’s been sitting there until well…now. Thelma, Louise and I finally decided that we would carve the pumpkin. A bit last minute but better than never.
The family gets paid to spend a day on the lake for a Bayliner Boat shoot.
By Jane on August 11, 2011
Our family was fortunate enough to be selected to do a shoot for Bayliner, the boat company. I guess they liked our family’s International look. Except, poor Benz is too small to be on a boat so I had to make arrangements for him to stay home. Luckily, as I may have mentioned, my parents [...]

ODE: For Intelligent Optimists. My new favorite magazine.
By Jane on September 13, 2010
The other day, I biked out to Starbucks for some ME-TIME and was reading my book, Learning from Salmon, and my new favorite magazine…introduced to me by my dear DICK. “You’re so lucky to have me. See how I expand your mind and make you so much smarter?” Ugh. He makes it so difficult for [...]

Since having Benz and all the added time and work that comes with having a newborn, Blogging has totally taken a back seat. I’m struggling with the amount of time to spend on blogging and taking pictures versus the time spent with my family and taking care of all our businesses (and still have my [...]

A MUST SEE: Madonna covers John Lennon’s, Imagine.
By Jane on January 9, 2011
WATCH, WATCH, WATCH! I actually like Madonna’s version of John Lennon’s, Imagine. Of course, the original remains untouchable. What are YOU waiting for? I need constant reminders like these. We get so caught up in our lives and our dramas that we FORGET. -Jane, Lover and Hoper for World Peace.

WARNING! Smoking causes impotence, y’all!
By Jane on November 5, 2009
I lived in Canada for about 9 months in one of the best cities in the world…TORONTO. Because it’s Canada and they have massive taxes for everything, cigarettes are no different. I was shocked when I was there about a year ago and a pack cost $10. When I lived there almost 10 years ago, [...]

Biking to Five Guys for some burgers.
By Jane on October 13, 2010
Another beautiful day and we are going to SEIZE it! Actually, we’re hungry and decided to bike out back to our fave burger joint, FIVE GUYS burgers. We get sidetracked for a second when the girls decide they want to go inside the pet store to see if there are any puppies. Sorry, no puppies [...]

No way you are throwing away those beautiful orchids…
By Jane on February 11, 2010
I was walking around one of my favorite super markets and I see this lady ripping off all these beautiful stems with these gorgeous orchid blossoms that still looked fresh. Not being one who is shy to ask, I asked her if she was going to throw them away. She was and asked if I [...]

Not a fan of spring mattresses, how about a futon mattress?
By Jane on December 29, 2010
The bed frames that we got for the girls are like platform beds where a box is not needed. Dick has a thing for futon mattresses and so wanted to get that particular kind for the girls since he believes they give you better support for your back. He hates spring mattresses. The girls were [...]

Recycling things I already have to accessorize the room.
By Jane on March 9, 2010
Most of the stuff I’m using to accessorize is stuff I already have. Like on some of those decorating shows on HGTV (I love those!) I decide to use stuff that is around my house because I have plenty. You remember I painted the tray. The picture is of Dick’s late Grandmother. The candles came [...]

We’ve caught a skunk. Now how to get rid of it???
By Jane on July 8, 2011
My mom had set out a trap to catch a pesky groundhog that keeps ravishing her garden. I can understand her pain because I have a few myself but I don’t have a vegetable garden this year so I don’t mind as much as usual. In past years though, my wonderful neighbors (Sharon & Ozzy) [...]

We’re eating Vegan at Vegan Glory
By Jane on January 3, 2010
I am by no means a vegetarian or vegan but I do try to eat less meat. The other day, I went with Lucy, Ricky and Thelma to Vegan Glory, a fantastic vegan restaurant that uses Soy to make imitation chicken, beef, and shrimp. It was extremely tasty and I quite enjoyed it.
