If you have seen Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, then you know this song. It’s got a fantastic beat and it’s HIGHlarious. When I listen to music, most of the time I’m paying attention to the beats. So… WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! It contains adult material so if you are easily offended, do NOT [...]

We dine with Lucy and Ricky. Japanese BBQ!!!
By Jane on February 5, 2010
Before I leave LA to come back to Metropolis, the girls and I dine with Lucy and Ricky as one of our last meals together. They take us to a fantastic restaurant called Gyu-Kaku…a Japanese BBQ restaurant. If you’ve never had Japanese or Korean BBQ (practically the same thing), you are missing out! At the [...]

OMG, do my eyes deceive me??? Kate Gosselin…is that you??!?!??! Where are your EIGHT kids??? While at my usual hangout, I was surprised when I thought I saw Kate Gosselin. The Kate Gosselin-Mom-Look-a-Like was a mom sporting the Kate Gosselin doo. The reality show, super-mom of two sets of multiples has reached new celebrity heights [...]

You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, there may be times where I just let the pictures do all the talking. Enjoy! -Jane, Grillin’ and Chillin’.

Yet Another Roadtrip: Picking up Daddy & Visiting with Friends
By Jane on November 18, 2009
It’s time to retreive Daddy since he’s been gone for over 2 weeks in LaLa Land (A.k.a. LA, Los Angeles). We found a great reasonable flight that is direct but it’s a 3 hour drive to this airport. Dick’s flight is supposed to arrive at 3:30pm and so I’m rushing to hit the road after Mother-Daughter [...]

My Asian, nearly non-existent eye lashes definitely need mascara!
By Jane on December 15, 2010
I’m Asian and we’re not really known for having long eyelashes. Actually, Asians are lucky if they even have an inkling of lashes. Unlike my Persian-mixed daughters who inherited long luscious lashes from her father’s side, I am not as fortunate as they are. Therefore, I need a little assistance from the mascara wand. My [...]

I get a surprise package in the mail from my dear sister, open it and what do I find? An Apology Memo Pad. And some of the reasons are actually pretty good! Attached is a note from Sister Dearest.

Painting the girls room. We’re going TECHNO! Color #1.
By Jane on March 7, 2010
It seems that around this time every year, when it starts to warm up, I get this urge to paint. Yes, this Jane loves to paint. I’ve been wanting to do the girls room for a while. The last time, I just painted some polka dots all over it with leftover paint I had over [...]

I was first introduced to Bonsai’s from watching Mr. Miagi pruning them on the Karate Kid. When I actually saw them in person, I just LOVED them. I have a love for trees and tree shapes as it is but a miniature version is just GORGEOUS!! It so happened that the annual Bonsai show was going [...]

Images taken from my yard… Spring is a time of renewal. Hence the reason why Persian New Year starts the first day of spring. The blossoms are already popping their heads out. Spring is on the way!!! There is so much beauty in nature. You just have to take the time to REALLY look. Nature [...]

Recently, we’ve been having some amazing weather for February in Metropolis. Sunny, mid 60s and beautiful. So, we moved the classroom outside, cause you can do that when you homeschool. The girls just spread out a blanket and bring their assignments outside. I’m also there in the event there are questions. And, I’m getting the [...]

Our favorite library, the bestest kid’s library evah!
By Jane on November 30, 2010
Alright, I know I’m jumping around in time with going to Gotham City to Thanksgiving to being pregnant but now I’d like to take us back to Gotham City. Sorry, being pregnant makes you all sorts of scatterbrained. What I love about being in the city is all the culture and arts that are offered within walking distance. Within minutes [...]

The Best Green Tea Ice Cream EVAH!
By Jane on July 13, 2010
While I was at the protest, my uncle took the girls to his house and bribed them with what else but ICE CREAM. Being that Toronto is a very international city, we’re able to buy REAL green tea ice cream from the Korean/Japanese grocery store. I say real because I have bought green tea ice [...]

Arts and Crafts with Jane, Thelma & Louise: Crayon-coloring Artists.
By Jane on October 15, 2009
The girls and I love arts and crafts. My cousin brought over a Disney Princess coloring book for the girls (Thanks sweetie!) and we decided that’s what we were going to do today. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to color. It’s so relaxing and meditational…one of my absolutely favorite things to do as a kid (and [...]

We’ve made up. Now for some Jacuzzi fun.
By Jane on June 18, 2010
Now that we’ve made amends, it’s back to Fun with Jane and Dick. Since Dick did finally cleaned the jacuzzi, We leave it cold so we can enjoy it given the crazy 90+F, sunny, hot and humid weather. This lighting is quite flattering. LOL. Trust me, there are stretch marks and flabbiness. You know I’m [...]

Emergency cell phone rescue today paid off.
By Jane on December 1, 2009
I had the most unfortunate task of saving my cell phone today. Because I was wearing my PJs and had no pockets for my phone, I slid it down the back of my pants, so that my panties were holding it in place (Luckily, I don’t wear thongs). I know, great place right? Whatever. So, [...]

Jane back in the day: Gen Xer and 80s Fashionista.
By Jane on September 13, 2010
Perez had something on his site about Then and Now, so I thought I would dig up some old pictures from my less than stellar teenage years. Being a Gen Xer, it is definitely apparent I was a product of the 80s. Could my hair be any taller??? Oh and yes, that’s a perm I’m [...]

I Hop, U Hop, We All Hop for IHOP!
By Jane on August 30, 2009
We only eat out occasionally when I’m lazy to cook or there’s a special occasion. Today was a lazy day so we decide to take a bike ride out the INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PANCAKES for breakfast. Now, I’m a mediocre, well almost novice bike rider. My limited riding in my childhood involved a used Pink Panther bike my mom Fanny Mae bought at a garage sale. My sister and I shared it and we took turns riding up and down my neighbor’s 200ft driveway. Back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. You get the picture. Fanny Mae didn’t allow us to ride on the neighborhood streets for fear that we would get hit by cars.

My girls inherited their Dad’s dominant “curly-hair” gene. Well, Thelma more than Louise. Thelma’s hair has this lovely curl at the ends of her hair that makes her hair look effortlessly stylish. Super cute. I love it! The curls are even more prominent in the summer. Asians, because most of us have naturally straight hair [...]
