As I may have mentioned, one of the great benefits of homeschooling is that you can take it on the road. This is one of the main reasons why we homeschool.

By Jane on March 9, 2011
Close-ups of the orchids, so you can fully appreciate their beauty! (NOTE: All pics were taken with my little Canon G11 point and shoot camera.) Enjoy! THE LADY SLIPPERS Lady Slipper Orchids are one of my favorite varieties of orchid. They are just gorgeous!! They are called Lady Slipper due to the slipper-shape pouches of the flower. If you’re a Lady [...]

Strawberry-Banana Smoothies: by Thelma & Louise
By Jane on September 17, 2009
Thelma and Louise love drinking smoothies. This is because Dick makes it for them all the time….some kind of concoction of mushed banana and soymilk. Smoothies and shakes aren’t really my thing but every once in a blue moon maybe. In the mornings, I’m thankful that the girls are self-serving and are able to [...]

Crazy Clothes Day at our Homeschool Co-op
By Jane on February 11, 2010
Our Homeschool Co-op always has fun things that we do. This time, it’s crazy clothes day. One day, Louise comes over to me and tells me that crazy clothes day is coming up and she can’t think of anything to wear. She complains that she never wins any of the fun day competitions. I tell [...]

My runner Louise runs her second 5K.
By Jane on May 20, 2012
You remember how Louise ran the 5K with Girls on the Run last year? Well, this year, even though she didn’t participate in the program, she wanted to run the 5K again with her daddy. What do you know but I’m pregnant for this year’s event too! Dang, I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever. We barely [...]

G20 Summit “Peaceful Protests” at Queen Street.
By Jane on July 12, 2010
At the beginning of my trip in Toronto, all the news coverage was about the G20 and how Toronto has gone ALL OUT to secure their city and the multitude of World Leaders who are coming together for this Summit. The reason for the extensive security is because there were protests at the last G-summit [...]

Your Daily Osho: Choose Nature. Don’t be a loser.
By Jane on January 28, 2011
EVERDAY OSHO: CHOOSE NATURE Wherever you find that society is in conflict with nature, choose nature – whatever the cost. You will never be a loser. The thinking up to now has been that the individual exists for the society, that the individual has to follow what the society dictates. The individual has to fit [...]

Airing out my dirty laundry, hitting the kitchen, and dumping into the war room.
By Jane on February 17, 2012
I continue with Day 2 of cleaning and I noticed that the laundry machines are all dusty so I decided to attack that whole area next. Between the machines are those reusable cloth/durable plastic grocery bags and coolers and more bags. I notice though that the ones on the bottom are moist and there’s dust [...]

My sleeping beauties… I can’t believe how grown they are. Just the sweetest things in the world. I adore these girls. Such a difference from when Thelma was 18 months and Louise was just born. Louise was literally 3-4 days old. It’s true what they say…kids grow too fast. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years. [...]

Louise’s 9th birthday in LA with a special birthday wish from Jeannie Mai.
By Jane on April 14, 2012
Louise had been begging to come to California to spend her birthday there for many, many months prior to the actual day. So, when we finally planned on coming here, she was SO super excited. Lucy planned on having a birthday party in LA for her so Lucy and Louise made some invitations for the [...]

My celebrity twin in the news: Tila Tequila STONED at a Juggalos concert.
By Jane on August 18, 2010
I’ve never been one to be mistaken for a celebrity until one day, this girl at a grocery store says to me: “Hey, you look like…like…that girl on TV…what’s her name?…” I’m clueless and just waiting for her to spit it out because no one has ever mistaken me for a celeb. “Oh! You look [...]

Miso soup is one of our family’s favorite soup to eat and we always order it when we eat sushi. It’s super healthy, super good, and super easy to make. This is a fast soup to make. Once the water boils, it’s just a matter of adding the ingredients and serving. No waiting for it [...]

It’s Friday! You ain’t got not job. You ain’t got shit to do.
By Jane on October 28, 2011
I’m so behind on blogging. Benz is now 5 months and I’ve still got stuff to write about that happened a month ago. Pregnancy and having children contribute greatly to my rapidly disappearing brain cells, whereby the count is drastically depleted with each additional child. That and, of course, aging. Pregnancy amnesia doesn’t go away [...]
