Since the girls fell asleep while I was finishing up our Sponge Bob pumpkin, they were surprised to see that Mommy didn’t screw up the carving job. I’m glad my “customers” were happy with their order.

Dick gets “new” shoes. Tenant leaves behind a pair of Nike Lebron James 20-5-5.
By Jane on September 1, 2011
We always have “gifts” that the tenants leave behind and it’s usually because they don’t want to move their crap or they just don’t want it anymore. We’ve gotten a stereo, beds, furniture, pots and pans, washer and dryer, etc. While cleaning up the garage of our property, Dick found a pair of men’s tennis [...]

Pets: Kids just want to care for something of their own.
By Jane on September 29, 2009
For some reason, kids just have this inherent need to have pets. They just want to take care of something and call it their own. Like most kids, my kids wanted to be the parents of their own puppy. Fanny Mae had bought an adorable little Pekingnese for herself, so when my mom brought the [...]

Crispy Flounder with Persian Rice & Butternut Squash.
By Jane on February 21, 2011
So here’s the finale of the dinner I made the other day. I didn’t do a full post on the flounder but it’s quite easy. Just take your flounder and coat the outside with flour, turmeric, salt & pepper. Cook it in oil until cripsy on med-high. They come out beautifully golden, crispy on the [...]

Thelma goes CRAZY at crazy clothes day at our homeschool co-op.
By Jane on February 18, 2011
Our co-op often has a special day where the kids can dress up. We have pajama day, crazy hair day, crazy hat day, etc. Today was crazy clothes day and Thelma threw something together that morning. Pretty crazy that girl and she didn’t even have any help from her crazy Momma. I stopped dressing them [...]

Just an average day in the life of Jane and Dick.
By Jane on October 7, 2009
Our days are not like most people’s. We don’t have 9-5 jobs. We don’t send our kids to school. So, here’s a glimpse into a day in the life of Jane and Dick. Every day is different, which makes for a less boring, less monotonous life. We started our day at 11:15am this particular morning [...]

Ok, so publicly announcing that I have a feet picking problem has not helped me to pick it any less. I’m REALLY in pain right now, slightly bleeding, and walking around on my tippy toes. YOWZERS!! This is really a problem. Now, how am I going to be a ping-pong champion if I can’t even [...]

Riding the ChooChoo…at the mall.
By Jane on March 10, 2011
Like I said, I haven’t been to the mall in like two years…and I realized why. Besides it being outside “the bubble” that I live in, it’s crazy crowded (at least it was that day) and stressful. While we were there looking at the Orchid Exhibit, the girls see a Choo Choo Train that goes [...]

Persian, German, English Slow Song: “I can’t breathe.” Beautiful.
By Jane on December 9, 2009
This was a song sent to Dick from his cousin. The song “I can’t breathe” is by a German Band named Bruz where the lead singer is Persian. Actually, I don’t understand the song at all but you won’t need to in order to like the song. It’s a beautiful slow rap ballad with a [...]

Apparently, anyone can call a salad a “Greek” salad these days simply by adding some crumbled feta cheese on top and some olives. FETA CHEESE + LETTUCE + OLIVES = GREEK SALAD What’s really weird when you order a GREEK salad and then the guy behind the counter says… “Would you like Ranch or Italian [...]

Ice Skating fun turns into a trip to the ER. Yes, stitches required.
By Jane on October 30, 2009
As I may have mentioned, Thelma is taking ice skating lessons and cannot get enough of it. She wants to go at every opportunity and likes to get there early so she can maximize ice time. We went for a private lesson today to prepare for a competition that is coming up. She had her [...]

My Louise is starstruck and #1 fan of How Do I Look’s Jeannie Mai.
By Jane on February 16, 2012
You know how kids become fanatical about celebrities such as Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus, the Twilight kids, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, etc? Well my Louise is the #1 fan of the host of the fashion makeover show How Do I Look‘s Jeannie Mai. If you’ve never watched the show, it is a fashion intervention where two [...]

Your daily Benz: Inquisitive, country boy Benz.
By Jane on May 7, 2012
Now that’s two words you’d never think you’d say in the same sentence. Country boy and Benz. Oh wait, that’s three words. I meant to say two things. Some pictures that I took of my “country boy” outside of where we meet for our homeschool co-op. Benz has super sharp eyes that can detect the [...]

EVERYDAY OSHO: Amatuers and Experts. Don’t be an expert. Be an amateur!
By Jane on January 27, 2011
Today I may be a photographer, blogger, property investor and manager, entrepreneur…tomorrow I may want to be a hairdresser, a chef, a stylist, a gardener, or a carpenter. Who knows? Life is short. I don’t think I would want to do the same thing for the rest of my life. I have many more things [...]
