Since the girls fell asleep while I was finishing up our Sponge Bob pumpkin, they were surprised to see that Mommy didn’t screw up the carving job. I’m glad my “customers” were happy with their order.

And the stitches come out…not as traumatizing this time.
By Jane on November 5, 2009
Five days after Thelma’s skating incident and we’re headed back in the ER to have her stitches removed. Look how happy she is. I hope it stays this way….

Ewwww Pink! Going through a tomboy phase.
By Jane on September 19, 2010
We’re going through a tomboy phase where PINK is no longer favored. These days, I often hear: “That’s too girly Mommy!” So I guess we’re into the “tough chick” mode…especially Thelma. I’m not sure I can even get them in a dress or skirt. Kids and their phases. I guess I have mine too. Whatevs, [...]

Every once in a while, I like to go to the auction to check out the cars. Dick usually does it but I like to see what’s there and test drive them. I thought that Eminem, being a young man, would enjoy seeing all the different cars. He did. AUDI When we check out cars, [...]

You may or may not know that I am the one who takes care of the yard work in our family. Yes, I’m the “yard boy” or if you live out in California, I’m the “gardener”. Either way, I mow the grass, weedwack, edge, and leaf blow. It takes me about 2.5 hours to do my 1+ acre yard the way I like it. Yes, I’m anal about the yard. I like it to look neat and pristine, hence I do not let Dick cut the grass…not that he would volunteer to do it anyway.

By Jane on October 14, 2009
You remember the chrysanthemums that were taking over my sidewalk? Well, I cut some of them and used them to decorate inside. Fresh flowers are the best!

Jane and Dick celebrate 15 years together! How we met and how I hit the “jackpot”.
By Jane on February 3, 2011
Fifteen years ago, I meet Dick at an International Party at a nightclub. Yes, a nightclub. I broke at least one if not several of “The Rules” from that dating book written by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider by accepting to go on a date with him the very next day. Plus, I’m pretty sure [...]

Three years ago we were blessed to have Monk join our family when Dick gave her to Thelma as a gift for her 5th birthday. Thelma reminded us today by having us celebrate Monk’s birthday.

Please don’t eat me, I love you!

Sweet Louise donning one of my favorite T-shirts. I love seeing my girls in comfy, oversized T-shirts. Looks way better on her than me anyway. Too tight. Is this pig not the cutest thing ever? I’m talkin’ about the one wearing the t-shirt. Hehe. -Jane, Comfy T-shirt Lover

My little fashionistas’ and their choices in making a statement… Mom has nothing to do with these ensembles. They are in full charge of how they dress.

Your Daily Osho: Choose Nature. Don’t be a loser.
By Jane on January 28, 2011
EVERDAY OSHO: CHOOSE NATURE Wherever you find that society is in conflict with nature, choose nature – whatever the cost. You will never be a loser. The thinking up to now has been that the individual exists for the society, that the individual has to follow what the society dictates. The individual has to fit [...]

I just discovered that I am also a poet. I found this poem I wrote in my newly found GREEN INDEX CARD HOLDER. Written probably about some boy I had a crush on. I must have thought the poem was pretty good otherwise I wouldn’t have taped it to this lovely green piece of construction [...]

Abstract Orchids with Punches of Color.
By Jane on March 10, 2011
Are you sick of orchids yet? If not, here are more. I took some of the ones I already edited and added punches of color to make them more abstract. I’ve added some of the original RAW/unedited pictures to show you what they looked like before I put my Ahhh-tist touch to them. AN AHHH-TIST’S [...]

Like brother, like sister. Watermelon improperness…some things never change.
By Jane on September 8, 2011
Looks like someone STILL has not read my post on how to PROPERLY cut a watermelon. Some things never change. For sure, this is not the method. Seriously! Time for damage control. I had to take the knife away from my dear sister-in-law before butchered this watermelon any further. Improper watermelon cutting and eating run [...]

Dreams of going cross-country with the kids: Premature RV shopping.
By Jane on April 26, 2010
Believe it or not this Jane wants to buy an RV and go across the GREAT USofA with the family on an extended trip. I don’t want to wait until I’m too old to enjoy everything! I wanna do it now, while I can enjoy it with my family! And by extended, I mean more [...]

Bed Time! (For Late Nighters).
By Jane on September 21, 2010
Getting to bed always takes a good thirty minutes if not an hour for the girls to get to bed. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. We are late nighters, which is also another reason why we homeschool. Now that school has started, the girls go to bed “early”…around 10pm. And yes, sometimes, it [...]

A little while back, I stopped using lotions. Any kind of lotions…for the hands, body, face, suntan/block lotions. I just don’t use them anymore. Why? Well, it started years ago when I was reading that book that book, Natural Cures by Kevin Trudeau. And actually, that book is not really that great of a book, but the one [...]

After the modeling shoot, we stop to smell the fall air.
By Jane on November 7, 2010
After the modeling shoot, the girls discover that there is a scenic area with pond with walking path. “Mommy, can we go check out the pond?” My first inclination is to say NO because it’s cold and I thought about ALL the things I still needed to get done since we spent a lot of [...]

The girls make sweet potato casserole and apple pie!
By Jane on November 27, 2011
The girls wanted to help cook this year. Louise wanted to make the Sweet Potato Casserole. And Thelma was making an apple pie for my girl June Cleaver and her kids. Thelma and Louise learned how to make apple pie in their co-op cooking class. Louise was then done with her sweet potato casserole so she [...]
