Being the super-duper dad that he is, Dick went ice skating with Thelma yesterday. Thelma is LOVING ice skating and wants to go to every public session. Reminds me of my competitive roller skating days. Yes, there is such a thing as competitive roller skating. When I can find the pics, I will post. Any-hoo, [...]

Mind Blowing Science: The kids learn about acids and bases.
By Jane on February 16, 2011
For Christmas, my cousin from Australia (MIA), you know the one who visited me and we went mechanical bull riding, sends the girls an awesome Science kit called Mind Blowing Science. The girls have been itching to do the projects ever since Christmas and yes, I’m just getting to it now. Because I’m thinking this could [...]

Late Night Kitchen Cleaning and Laundry Folding.
By Jane on November 25, 2009
I’m a late night person. I have a very strange schedule these days. Working late into the night is one of my all time ultimate favorite times to work because it’s ABSOLUTELY quiet. No cars, no kids screaming “Mommy, Mommy”. I can get alot done at night. 12:30 AM KITCHEN CLEANING. It’s 12:30 AM and [...]

You may or may not know that I am the one who takes care of the yard work in our family. Yes, I’m the “yard boy” or if you live out in California, I’m the “gardener”. Either way, I mow the grass, weedwack, edge, and leaf blow. It takes me about 2.5 hours to do my 1+ acre yard the way I like it. Yes, I’m anal about the yard. I like it to look neat and pristine, hence I do not let Dick cut the grass…not that he would volunteer to do it anyway.

Walking in the Winter Wonderland: Our Southeast Winter Storm.
By Jane on January 31, 2010
Our “winter storm” came. Only, it wasn’t really a storm. We get some snow but nothing like a foot or anything. I was hoping for at least 8 inches but alas, no. No matter, it’s BEAUTIFUL outside and we’re going for a walk. When you have snow and ice covering everything, it’s like a whole [...]

Finally ready to assemble the Twin Beds.
By Jane on December 30, 2010
After nearly waiting two weeks in high anticipation of having their own NEW beds, we are finally ready to start the assembly process. We start with one bed and take out all the pieces. I’m in charge of reading the instructions and telling everyone what to do. As Dick points out, “You ARE the Eng-gin-eer!”

Thelma brings in some smoothies to my office while I was here working. I thought she had made me something to drink and was bringing it to me. How thoughtful! But, before she handed me one, she said… “WAIT.” Then, she proceeds to show me the sign. Being the creative entreprenuer that she is, she [...]

Been listening to my Pulp Fiction CD alot lately. Here’s one of my favorites that I like to sing along to, pretending that I’m a fabulous singer. No, I am not singing along in this video. Enjoy! Quentin sure does know how to pick the best songs for his soundtracks. So GROOVY! This Jane digs [...]

I used to be the kind of girl that wanted EVERYTHING. Everything materialistic that is. The big house, the luxury cars, the designer shoes and clothes, etc. etc. etc. I was young, ambitious, and stupid, stupid, stupid. It seriously would physically hurt me thinking about not having the things I wanted and I was always [...]

G20 Summit “Peaceful Protests” at Queen Street.
By Jane on July 12, 2010
At the beginning of my trip in Toronto, all the news coverage was about the G20 and how Toronto has gone ALL OUT to secure their city and the multitude of World Leaders who are coming together for this Summit. The reason for the extensive security is because there were protests at the last G-summit [...]

As you all know, our visitors get the Jane and Dick Bike Tour de Metropolis. Luckily, we have enough bikes for J Lo and her boys, Will and Carlton. Several people have gotten the great privilege of going on this tour.

Dick’s egg-crusted pans make Jane’s blood boil.
By Jane on January 3, 2011
Whenever Dick uses our stainless steel pots and pans to scramble his eggs, I get so absolutely annoyed! It’s because whenever he does, he doesn’t cook them on high enough heat and doesn’t use enough oil so that they don’t stick to the pan. Instead, he cooks them on medium to low heat for too [...]

By Jane on March 6, 2010
Yes, Dick is training his girl to kick some ass so he doesn’t have to when she gets older. Thelma & Louise’s Tae Kwon Do classes have definitely paid off.

Venturing out to the grocery store in the snow.
By Jane on January 6, 2011
We needed a few things from the grocery store, anticipating that we might get snowed in. With the way the snow was coming down, it was a possibility. Dick wanted to take the Caddie. He loves that car. Louise volunteers to dust off the snow on the car. The drive out of our neighborhood. Of [...]

Does this give you any kind of inclination as to the state of my brains? I almost walked out the door like this. Only after a bit did I realize that something didn’t feel just quite right. Luckily I did make the necessary adjustments prior to venturing out in public. -Jane, Preggar Brained.

Surprise visit on my birthday.
By Jane on April 10, 2011
I’m 36 this year. Not a major milestone. And, with me being pregnant this year, no dress-up party like last year. Remember mine and June’s joint birthday bash… Pimps N’ Ho’s? I just wasn’t feelin’ it this year and just wanted to chill with my family. My birthday started out with Dick and the girls making [...]

Not a fan of spring mattresses, how about a futon mattress?
By Jane on December 29, 2010
The bed frames that we got for the girls are like platform beds where a box is not needed. Dick has a thing for futon mattresses and so wanted to get that particular kind for the girls since he believes they give you better support for your back. He hates spring mattresses. The girls were [...]

Rummikub with Lucy and Mamma F.
By Jane on January 4, 2010
Another favorite game that Lucy and I like to play is Rummikub. If you’ve never played this game before, it’s a great game with family and friends. The kids can actually play too. Since Lucy just lost to me in Boggle, we decided to move on to Rummikub and we’ve invited Mamma F to play [...]
