I’m running late taking the girls to Co-op and I can’t find the keys. Don’t you hate when you’re already late and can’t find the keys. I running around frantically trying to find them. I feel like I’ve lost my mind. I look absolutely EVERYWHERE.

“Sherlock and Watson” on the search for a Wasp Nest.
By Jane on November 19, 2009
In the last few days we’ve killed about 3 wasps in our house. Wasps, not bees. Their sting is much worse, or so I’ve heard, but I’m not wanting to find out first hand. I’m not scared of bees at all but for some reason, wasps, hornets or yellow jackets seem way angrier and scarier. [...]

ODE: For Intelligent Optimists. My new favorite magazine.
By Jane on September 13, 2010
The other day, I biked out to Starbucks for some ME-TIME and was reading my book, Learning from Salmon, and my new favorite magazine…introduced to me by my dear DICK. “You’re so lucky to have me. See how I expand your mind and make you so much smarter?” Ugh. He makes it so difficult for [...]

The Paparazzi are hanging out at the Ken Pave Salon waiting for Jessica Simpson .
By Jane on January 8, 2010
We had just gotten back to Lucy’s house and there’s a huge crowd of paparazzi outside of Ken Pave’s Salon. I’m wondering who they’re waiting for but given that it’s Ken Pave, I’m assuming it’s either Eva Longoria or Jessica Simpson.

Christmas tree finally up. Let’s hope it stays that way.
By Jane on December 5, 2011
We get home and it’s time to lug the tree into the house. Neither Lucy nor I want to touch the tree cause you know it’s got all that gooey, sticky sap and we don’t want to get our outfits dirty. Yes, we were being girly-girls. Whatevs. Sometimes you have to. Louise cuts the string [...]

Warmed towels after a shower. Who wouldn’t love that?
By Jane on February 25, 2010
A few shots of my girls all wrapped up in their towels after a shower. Auntie Lucy Lu decided to spoil them one day with warmed towels from the dryer.

Merry-go-rounds and Vending Machines get my kids every time.
By Jane on April 18, 2010
It never fails, whenever we are at Wal-Mart, the girls want to ride the Merry-Go-Round. This little thing that goes around and around and around… It seems to be never ending…and brings them so much joy. Not to mention, the vending machines are ALWAYS calling their name. Here’s a video below of all the excitement and fun.

A little while back, I stopped using lotions. Any kind of lotions…for the hands, body, face, suntan/block lotions. I just don’t use them anymore. Why? Well, it started years ago when I was reading that book that book, Natural Cures by Kevin Trudeau. And actually, that book is not really that great of a book, but the one [...]

How much house can one get for $1 million in Metropolis???
By Jane on October 7, 2010
No, we’re not house hunting and even if we were, $1 million is just a little out of our budget. Every year, there is a showcasing of some substantial new homes being built in the Metropolis area. As a kid, going to see the new, beautifully decorated houses was one of my favorite things to [...]

Microwave Rice Krispy Treats: Easiest way to make em.
By Jane on March 4, 2010
This Jane is not really a fan of Rice Krispy Treats. I know, how UN-American. I’ve just grown out of the marsh mellow phase of my childhood. It grosses me out to think of how those marsh mellows are coagulating in my stomach. Pretty disgusting if you think about it.

Breakfast at Chick-fil-A. Fast Food Ketchup etiquette: Get yo’ own!
By Jane on February 7, 2011
My sister, Lucy Lu, is back in town! As soon as we pick her up from the airport early in the morning, the girls wanted to head over to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. Of course, this preggar was craving some Chick-fil-A too. A chicken biscuit, with a side of gravy (oh yeah!) and some tater tots. [...]

Thanksgiving Dinner by Jane and Lucy
By Jane on November 27, 2009
I love Thanksgiving dinner and I always eat to the point where I think I will explode. This Thanksgiving was no different, except, this time Lucy Lu and I made dinner. The turkey was marinated by my dad, Freddy Mac, and stuffed by Lucy so there’s no recipe. I was the one who roasted it [...]

Your Daily Osho: An Echoing Place. That’s Karma baby!!
By Jane on January 30, 2011
I’ve always believed in Karma…whatever you put out there, it’s going to come right back at cha like a boomerang. And if you have watched “The Secret”, in a more scientific description, it’s the same thing as Quantum Physics. Whatever energy you put out in the universe, the universe will echo it right back at [...]

Stripe bass and pickerel for dinner!
By Jane on July 18, 2010
So we pan fried the striped bass, which tastes great with rice. The pickerel was steamed and topped off with a soy-ginger sauce and green onions. I understand now why the pickerel is so coveted. Talk about YUMMY! -Jane, Fish Lover.

Your daily Benz: Sleeping with Mommy and Daddy.
By Jane on June 23, 2011
Because I’m the Mommy AND the photographer, I am doubly doomed not to get any pictures of me with the baby or me with my family at all for that matter…even though I am the one person who currently spends the most time with the baby. However, I’m torn because even though I want to [...]

The object of Benz’s fountain…Jane gets sprayed!
By Jane on June 25, 2011
They say having a boy is different and I’m starting to see that. I’m totally sweet on my little guy. However, when they’re so little like this, babies are pretty much the same in the sense that all they do is eat, sleep and poop. The only obvious difference right now is the boys have [...]

Tooth Fairy makes multiple stops???
By Jane on August 7, 2010
Louise asked me the other day… “Mommy, does the Tooth Fairy really exist or is it just you and daddy sticking money under my pillow.” Gasp! Like the SANTA question, I didn’t know how to respond so I did the same thing when asked about Santa. “Do YOU think the Tooth Fairy is real?” “Well, I [...]

A grandpa that changes diapers?!?! Freddie Mac, hands-on Grandpa!
By Jane on January 4, 2012
My dad ADORES his grandchildren and he LOVES babies. It’s because babies like to do the same thing as my dad…sleep, chill in bed, eat. My mom thinks it’s really funny because she complains that when Lucy and I were babies, he wasn’t as nearly hands-on as he is now. Of course, I think that [...]

Simple and super tasty Almond Crusted Chilean Sea Bass.
By Jane on February 11, 2011
I made some Chilean Sea Bass the other day for my dad’s birthday. All I did was sprinkle salt, pepper, and my special mushroom seasoning (optional) and cooked the bass in the oven at 350F for about 30-40 minutes (or until it’s cooked). Use olive oil to coat the pan. I then added a crushed [...]

I have been DUPED!! So this is what crack is like.
By Jane on December 3, 2009
I recently ran out of my favorite mushroom seasoning that is an MSG substitute. Although MSG makes everything takes SUPER yummy, it’s been linked to cause cancer and is not good for you. I love this mushroom seasoning and put it in almost everything.
