We’re watching the countdown on CNN but I think it’s a replay of the dropping of the ball in NY’s Time Square. Whatever, it’s still almost midnight for us so we use it as our own West Coast countdown. Besides, Kathy Griffin is hilarious the way she banters with Anderson Cooper, who is pretty cute despite being gay. All the good looking ones are gay.

Dang, I remember when I was a kid and thought the year 2000 was so far into the future, where life on Earth would look super futuristic, with flying cars like the Jetson’s! And here we are, 2010! No flying cars.

Here we are attempting to get a picture with all of us together, squeezing in. Too close for my SLR but my point and shoot is in the shop. Really sucks!

After ringing in the new year, Dick is already rummaging through the fridge to see what he can snack on.

(Yes Lucy, those are your pajama pants that Dick is wearing.) SWEXY!

I find some boursin cheese that I bought the other day. My good friend June Cleaver got me and the kids addicted to this creamy, garlic cheese that goes fantastic with a baguette. We don’t have a baguette but I found some crackers that will do just fine.

I also make some instant Pho ramen for Dick and I to share. I know, goes really well with the crackers and cheese.

But, Dick is craving a salad. He’s about the only person I know who craves salads. Dick remembers that Lucy has a lime tree in her backyard so he goes out there with the only shoes he has with him, his boots, to get a lime for his salad.

A great look I must say.

MAMMA MIA

Dick gets his salad, we snack, and then we surf the ON DEMAND to see what’s on TV. We decide on Mamma Mia, the movie version of the Broadway musical staring Merril Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth (I love him!) and some other actors I don’t know.

With Greece as the backdrop, every frame of this movie was picture perfect.

Watching Mamma Mia totally made me want a house in Greece. Who knows, maybe one day…

I’m just amazed by how the writer was able to write a script around Abba’s songs.

Definitely a “chick flick” but if you enjoy musicals or good cinematography or both, you’ll love this one.

I’ve never seen the broadway musical but Mamma Mia, The Movie was pretty good. Thelma loved it and Louise….well, like usualy, she had fallen asleep.

I wonder if the Broadway show was as good or better.
