Ashereste is a Persian hearty soup that could easily be a meal on its own. This is an EXCELLENT soup for the cold, cold winter we’re having. Because this soup takes a while to make, I usually make a bunch and either have people over, give it away, or freeze it to eat another day.

By Jane on April 9, 2010
Louise and I were admiring our CHERRY TREE that is in FULL BLOSSOM. We thought we would enjoy it a bit since this will probably only last a few days.

Warning: Meditation with Kids can induce more stress.
By Jane on September 1, 2010
It had a been a rough day…I was mentally and physically drained. So, I decided to take some time out to meditate, as Dick often tells me I should. Just before we were getting ready to go to soccer practice, I tell the girls (who are all dressed in their soccer gear…cleats and all)…let’s MEDITATE! [...]

Modern PAJAMA Family Photo Shoot.
By Jane on January 26, 2011
I’m finally at my friend’s house after running out of gas and being rescued, and ready to do the photo shoot for her family. When I do family shoots, I like to create a “mini-event” that fits the personality of the family where I’m just there to document all the fun, snapping away. I’m not [...]

Getting our energy out at the Gymnastics place.
By Jane on September 23, 2010
We have access to a great Gymnastics place that opens up their gym to the public and allows kids to run around and play at their HUGE facility for only $5 an hour per child! Believe me, an hour is plenty. We’re not interested in adding yet another activity to our schedules but I love [...]

Even though we planned on having Thelma’s birthday in LA, a last minute party was thrown together the night before we decided to have Thelma’s birthday. Hours before the party and I’m running around getting last minute items for the party. We had invited guests to come at 1:00 but we were NOT anywhere close to being ready [...]

From Sunny LA to the freezing cold of the South!
By Jane on January 12, 2010
Yes, after being in Los Angeles for a month, we’re coming back home. We’ve just got off the plane and like I mentioned before, I’m ready to hop right back on and go back to LA. -IT’S FRIGGIN’ COLD!! Yes, LA is superficial and plastic but it’s also WARM and SUNNY! The days are around [...]

That effing wire is a death trap!!!
By Jane on September 23, 2009
My sister, Lucy Lu, is in town for her birthday and her boyfriend, Ricky Ricardo, is joining us as well. Lucy is my bestest friend and I love her dearly. Lucy and I have this thing where we speak in different accents all the time. Sometimes Chinese, sometimes Mexican, German, Japanese, British, Indian, [...]

SmasherJane smashes at Words with Friends.
By Jane on May 26, 2010
My sister gave me her old iPhone, which I use SOLEY for playing games. (I have a different phone I use for calls/texting.) The two games I like to play are WORDS WITH FRIENDS (which is a SCRABBLE application) and SCRAMBLE (which is a BOGGLE application). Yes, I’m a NERD. I LOVE playing these two [...]

Jane: Possible Pimp-tress of Rides???
By Jane on February 10, 2010
WHAT IS DICK DOING? Seems like I’m doing all the work while we’re in Gotham City? Well, yes, I’d like to think so but actually, I have to give Dick “some” credit. While I’m slaving away, scrubbing nastiness, Dick is running around trying to finalize the purchase and transport of a new car. We’ve bought [...]

Summer may be over but I just got the greatest new dress and I plan on wearing it to the max! This dress gets the CCC (Triple C) rating – chic, comfortable, and CHEAPY! Take from the racks at Ross, the Bohemian style and pattern totally caught my eye. Just my style.
Ross’s is like TJ Maxx where you have to really look through all the racks and if you find something you like in your size, you better get it or someone else will! Imagine my surprise to find out that this small dress is actually an X-large. Yes, X-large!! This hurts the ego but I decided to try it on anyway. Come to find out,BIGGER is sometimes BETTER! It was a super cute DAINTY summer dress.

The Best Green Tea Ice Cream EVAH!
By Jane on July 13, 2010
While I was at the protest, my uncle took the girls to his house and bribed them with what else but ICE CREAM. Being that Toronto is a very international city, we’re able to buy REAL green tea ice cream from the Korean/Japanese grocery store. I say real because I have bought green tea ice [...]

Louise tries to copy my drawings.
By Jane on February 12, 2011
Louise loves art and had seen my sketches of the stick figures I draw laying around. So, she took it upon herself to try to copy my drawings. Here’s what she came up with: She did so good! I love her adorable stick figures! Here’s the comparisons: She also did a few of her own, this [...]

Jane flips her shiz. Oh I could just kill a man.
By Jane on June 17, 2010
We left off with Dick, smirking. There are no pictures of the following events but I will try to illustrate for you when applicable. I’m trying to let go of everything but with no sleep for almost two days, I’m definitely not in the mood for further BUTTON PUSHING. and Dick knows exactly which buttons [...]

Silly Bandz: The new friendship bracelet? Let’s go back to the old days.
By Jane on October 14, 2010
When I was in middle school, making friendship bracelets were all the rage and I was the queen of making string bracelets. No really. I was. I would spend hours upon hours knotting these colorful bracelets, all the while trying to come up with new patterns and styles to impress the kids at school. I [...]

Glass, Bobbins, Thread and Friends. A fabulous night at the Art Gallery.
By Jane on January 24, 2010

June Cleaver, Anne Wilson, Jane, Linda Hamilton My lovely friend, Termina-tress Linda Hamilton (right) volunteers at the Museum and assisted with the new exhibit featuring artist Anne Wilson, who [...]

F-bomb can land you in jail. F#$%, should I be worried???
By Jane on October 27, 2009
Looks like my tendencies to spurt out an f-bomb could land my ass in jail! There seems to be a man from Kansas City who will be facing 30 days in a county jail for going on an f-bomb rampage in a road-rage altercation with another man. I wonder if he told the judge to “F#$%” [...]

Biking with my Big Belly. Still do-able.
By Jane on April 12, 2011
With Lucy in town, I thought we would get some much needed exercise and go for a bike ride. Contrary to my mom’s fears and warnings that one should not bike at 7-8 months of pregnancy, I’m still quite capable of using my skinny Sponge Bob legs to peddle myself around. Fanny Mae was quite [...]

Dinner at Katsuya Sushi on low key and fabulous New Year’s Eve.
By Jane on January 1, 2010
I have never really partied on New Year’s Eve. I always spend it at home, chillin. I think it’s because it’s cold and I really don’t want to venture out. Plus, with all the drunks out there, I would rather be with my family. As you can imagine, there’s tons to do in LA for [...]

By Jane on May 19, 2011
Introducing our new SON!!! I can’t tell you how over the moon we are that he has finally arrived. And because our family can’t do anything the “normal” way, it’s quite a story (to come). But first, I thought you would like to see him. At 6lbs 4 oz, 19 inches long and coming about [...]
