Next door to the place we had sushi was this cake shop. I don’t bake at all unless you count using Duncan Hines box cakes and Nestle Tollhouse Mini cookies. However, I wish I could make cakes like these.

We find a rodent in the shed. Opossum or Rat?
By Jane on November 8, 2010
DISCLAIMER: To start, down here, we call OPPOSSUMS just POSSUM and all future reference to this rodent will be referred to as such. I just didn’t want to confuse those who don’t know this from the onset with the title. So I was in the shed getting some trimmers for the hedges when I spotted what I thought [...]

Dick went up on our roof the other day and I was pretty jealous. You may remember I’m up here from time to time blowing the leaves off our roof. Sadly, I’m currently not allowed to go up there. Not that my off-kilter, unbalanced preggar self would dare try this right now. I can hardly [...]

Thelma and Louise, awesome baby helpers.
By Jane on July 11, 2011
Because they girls are now 8 and 9, they’re big enough now to do many things themselves and they are fantastic helpers with the baby. That’s some good planning on mine and Dick’s part…NOT. Even still, the girls are the best helpers a mommy could ask for. Remember when I told you lazy busy parents [...]

Traditional Japanese Ramen in Little Tokyo.
By Jane on January 2, 2010
One of my absolute favorite meals when I used to live in Japan is the traditional, not instant, Japanese Ramen (Pronounced by the Japanese as La-men because they can’t say “r”s.). I miss this ramen SO SO MUCH that sometimes it makes me all achy inside.

You don’t see motorcycle riders like this in my neck of the woods.
By Jane on July 8, 2010
As I’m driving around Toronto, I spot this dude on a motorcyle. He catches my eye because the motorcyle guys around where I live don’t look or dress like this dude. Actually, this look would have totally passed in my neck of the woods if it had not been for the Parasuco bag. Only a METROSEXUAL [...]

By Jane on January 28, 2010
Lucy and I meet up with my Mom for lunch during her lunch break from work. My mom is almost 65 but she loves working and I’m not sure she will retire any time soon. Being the super smart mom that she is, Fanny Mae is a Senior Project Engineer at an Environmental Engineering company. [...]

Taking my Aussie Cousin for the full COUNTRY experience.
By Jane on March 29, 2010
It came to me at the last minute that my cousin from Australia, MIA, needs the FULL COUNTRY EXPERIENCE before she heads on to her next destination…May-hee-Co. Yes, Mexico. Now going country line dancing isn’t exactly my usual scene but I’ve been before…albeit about 15 years ago but I’m no newbie and actually, I’ve always [...]

Bold and beautiful: Thelma sports a head dress just because.
By Jane on May 7, 2010
The other day, Thelma had found a black rag that was once part of Dick’s shirt. It had just been washed. She decided she wanted to wear it. She looks just adorable!! In Muslim cultures, older girls and women are REQUIRED to wear head dresses to cover their head and hair. I think it’s awesome [...]

That effing wire is a death trap!!!
By Jane on September 23, 2009
My sister, Lucy Lu, is in town for her birthday and her boyfriend, Ricky Ricardo, is joining us as well. Lucy is my bestest friend and I love her dearly. Lucy and I have this thing where we speak in different accents all the time. Sometimes Chinese, sometimes Mexican, German, Japanese, British, Indian, [...]

By Jane on May 5, 2010
My girl June Cleaver and I decided we would throw a theme party and used our birthdays (which are kinda around the same time) as a excuse for one. I love love love theme parties!! It’s so fun to get dressed up and as a mom, I get almost zero chance to dress up. Our [...]

Jane: Almost a FOOL but not quite!
By Jane on April 1, 2010
Yes, my birthday is shy of April Fools by one day. Therefore, this Jane is ALMOST a fool but NOT QUITE. Except, it’s possible I am quite GULLIBLE. My cousin sent me a text this morning: “Surprisingly, I’m getting engaged with my best friend from high school around August. We will send the invitations around [...]

Jane has no qualms about child labor. Everyone helps clean the house!
By Jane on August 23, 2011
We had spent our first night at Mr. Bean’s house so the kids could play. The next day, it was time to get to work on our rental property. The first thing we always do when we stay at one of our properties is give it a good cleaning. I don’t like to stay where other [...]

Confuchsia cooks me some soul food!
By Jane on November 23, 2011
Confuchsia brought her kids over to my house the other day so that the kids could play and the adults can hang. Much to my surprise, when she came over, Confuchsia said… “I’m gonna cook for you today. You just relax and hangout and I’m gonna make you some REAL SOUL FOOD.” I was so [...]

Biking and Hill-Climbing Preggar.
By Jane on January 21, 2011
The other day, we were blessed with unseasonable warm weather for this time of the year so we decided to take our bikes out and enjoy it! Plus, we had to go get some groceries. The hill next to our house was still iced over in parts so we had to be super careful. Dick’s [...]

Stay-at-Home: Do you feel you don’t “contribute”??? WHATEVER!!!
By Jane on September 15, 2009
I know so many stay-at-home Mom’s who feel like they have to “contribute”. WTF??? We work our asses off 24-7 taking care of our husbands and children with lots of expectations and no appreciation, raises, or adult interaction. And, much respect to those who are working Moms as well because you then have TWO [...]

It never fails, whenever we are at Wal-Mart, the girls want to ride the Merry-Go-Round. This little thing that goes around and around and around… It seems to be never ending…and brings them so much joy. Not to mention, the vending machines are ALWAYS calling their name. Here’s a video below of all the excitement and fun.

The object of Benz’s fountain…Jane gets sprayed!
By Jane on June 25, 2011
They say having a boy is different and I’m starting to see that. I’m totally sweet on my little guy. However, when they’re so little like this, babies are pretty much the same in the sense that all they do is eat, sleep and poop. The only obvious difference right now is the boys have [...]

Dogs: The latest accessory and social magnet.
By Jane on May 19, 2010
People have dogs for companionship but lately, dogs have become kind of like an accessory and social magnet. Right beside the fountain of geysers where we were splashing around in the water is a field where many people like to come to kick around a ball, throw a frisbee, toss a baseball, or many people [...]

Dick combed Carlton’s hair down to be funny. Thelma and I both agree that he looks like the Thin Man from the Charlie’s Angels Movie. Carlton is four and a half (can’t forget the half or he gets upset) and SUPER PLAYFUL. Such a character.
