So Dick and I haven’t been out in months. We’re just too busy and we enjoy time at home with our girls or playing ping pong. This year, Halloween fell on a Saturday so I was thinking of having a Halloween party at my house. But, like I said, we’re super busy and I just didn’t see myself having the time or energy to plan and host a party and then have to clean it up. I love dressing up so I told Dick that this year, we’re going out! I wanna dress up and I wanna go dancing!! We haven’t been to a dance club in a long while and since Dick loves to dance (He’s also very good.) he is game!

We drop off the kids at the best babysitter in the world…my parents, Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac!! Then it’s off to go home to change yet again for the evening. Dick is already ready so he’s still GOTH DICK for the evening.

My sister, Lucy Lu had a spectacular and beautiful Geisha outfit for Halloween last year and so I decide that’s what I want to be. Only, well…I can’t just go as a Giesha so I’m going as Goth Geisha!!

I feel like a Japanimation. I just need a samarai sword!

PRESENTING…GOTH PIMP DICK and GOTH GEISHA JANE

(I forgot to mention that Dick is actually a Goth Pimp because well, I’m a Goth Geisha and he’s my Goth Pimp)

So, it’s about 11:45 and we’re ready to go out. My friends are going to a dance club downtown but since they’re in their early twenties, they’re not going until 1am-ish. I remember those days when the nights didn’t get started until then. Dick My Goth  Pimp and I decide to see what’s up in Metropolis before we head to meet them and go to a Jazz Club we sometimes go to. It was dead and the band was already leaving! So, we ditch that place and headed downtown to a more “hip” bar.

Only, this place was dead too. The lighting is a bit cold, the sound system sucks and I’m not feelin’ it.

I like this one couch so we decide to stay for one drink.

There were all sorts of dressed up people out and about. I love that!

BEFORE WE GET TO THE CLUB, A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

The club that we go to has some memories for us. Dick and I met at this very same place almost 13 years ago while I was in college. Back then, there were these International Parties and one of them was held at this exact same  location. Only, this time, it looks nothing like it did years ago. We get there and there’s TONS of cars everywhere. I then realized why the other places are dead…EVERYONE is HERE!!

CLUBBING TIME!!

Another  friend of ours wants to join us out for the evening at the last minute so we meet up with him and finally park our cars. It’s FREAKIN’ cold by this time of night. It’s not helping that I don’t have a coat but I’m not about to carry one into the club. As I’m walking towards the door, I realize there is a LONG ASS line of people…probably at least 75 are waiting in the freezing cold, in line. My 20-something year old friends had text me to come in with them so we wouldn’t have to wait and I’m thinking she’s already there but I don’t see her and I can’t reach her. Turns out, she’s not there yet.

I see another shorter line where there’s about 5 people and there’s a VIP list. Dick and I do not intend on waiting in that long line in this crazy coldness so I tell Dick let’s just go check to see if my friend put her name there.

We were getting ready to give the name to the bouncer at the door but then another bouncer came out of the blue and just told him “They’re cool! Go right on in.”

SUWEEET!! I thought maybe Dick had known him from our previously days of clubbing. He used to know everyone and we would never have to wait or pay to get in anywhere. But, Dick did not know him and I tell Dick it’s because he’s with a hot Geisha and that’s why we got in. LOL. We were led to a separate VIP door and we didn’t even have to pay the cover. This is going to be a great evening!!

THE CLUB

We get inside and it’s packed…You can’t hardly move through the masses of people.

The lights are awesome and energy is raving!

The best dance, techno and hip hop is blaring over the speakers and the base is jumpin’! No, it’s physically jumping.

The club is all decked out for Halloween and the bar is swarmed with partyers.

Ummm, Robert Pattison, is that you lookin all scruffy and dirty like you do sometimes?

TALKING ABOUT NASTY BATHROOMS

As you can imagine, the line to use the ladies room was insane. I’m overhearing this girl tell another girl…”And this bitch bumped into me and I’m like, you don’t even say ex-cu-ooze me?!?!”  I hope I don’t run into HER tonight.

I find a different bathroom on the other side of the club. No waiting here but I see why… The ladies room is NASTY…

However,  there is a line for the mens. Dude’s gotta go bad!

THE CLUB WAS PUMPIN’!!

I’m guessing there are AT LEAST 500-600 people in this place and that it’s probably a fire hazard. But, it’s a mad party though. I wonder if my cousin that is a sophmore at college is here?

What was the weirdest thing I saw? Well, first was as soon as we got there, there was a dude getting something from the backseat of his car with his ass in the air and only a g-string and a shirt. That was shocking. Then there as a “she-male?” that looked like a dude but had perky titties that were REAL and all he/she was wearing were pasties and daisy dukes. And some people were just flat out in their underwear.

There was a DJ from Tokyo or (is it DJ Tokyo?) that chimed in the middle of the night on the screen. I wonder if it’s prerecorded but supposedly he’s DJ-ing from Toyko via satellite. Regardless, the beats and mixes are off the hook!

Towards the end of the night I decide I want to dance on stage. It’s so fun to look down and see everyone dance, having a good time.

The evening finished off superbly when I found a pool table to play on. I didn’t get to finish my game though because it was now 4AM (but really 3AM) and the club was closed after gaining that extra hour due to the time change.

I never found my 20-something friends. I saw them come in while I was upstairs but lost them in the crowds of people. I didn’t see them again for the rest of the night, that’s how crowded it was. Nonetheless, us “oldies” had a fantastic night listening to great music, meeting awesome people and dancing the night away!

Whether you like to dance at all or not, young or old, if you appreciate good music, you would have had a spectacular time at this club.
