It’s been a month that we’ve been in LA. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself. It’s the first time EVER that I’ve never spent Christmas with my parents but it’s also the first time EVER that I’ve spent Christmas in such warm, lovely weather. Los Angeles is crazy but I really will miss their weather. I had [...]

My parents build a chicken coop: Authentically grain fed and free range eggs!!
By Jane on June 21, 2011
My mom and I have been talking about raising chickens for their eggs for about, oh, maybe 5 years now. But, for me, with kids and our businesses, I simply don’t have the time. Rather, I should say…I don’t WANT to allocate extra time spent on yet another thing that I have to care for…it’s [...]

My favorite toothbrush. Economical and Ecological.
By Jane on September 9, 2010
It is reported that 50 million pounds of toothbrushes are dumped into landfills yearly. That’s alot of freakin’ toothbrushes. I’ve always wanted to recycle and have been just too lazy to. No more excuses and this family finally on the recycle bandwagon. In addition to recycling, I figure why not use ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY toothbrushes? Made by [...]

Another accident in the back seat of the Benz. Rushing to get to our first day of Homeschool Co-op.
By Jane on September 29, 2011
A few weeks ago, our homeschool co-op started up again. Our first day and of course we’re rushing to get to school on time. Usually the first day (and only the first day) I’m on time. So, in order to make it on time, we had to rush to the grocery store so I could get [...]

Despite thunderstorm forecasts, Queen Latifa takes us fishing.
By Jane on July 14, 2010
My aunt Queen Latifa loves loves loves to go fishing. We always go fishing at least once every time I’m in Toronto. Queenie has a small ski boat that really only seats 4 but because we’re Vietnamese, we’re squeezing in 5 adults and my two kids. Yahoo! Now, in order to get to the place [...]

Greed is the root of all evil.
By Jane on June 13, 2010
I have burnt my mouth and tongue taste testing food before it was ready. I can’t taste anything but that scratchy feeling in every bite. Now, the skin off the roof of my mouth is peeling as well. Greed really is the root of all evil. -Jane, Greedy Cook.

So we made it to the club and although there was a huge-ass line outside, we were not about to wait. So, we headed to the VIP line and they let us in! Yipppeeee! Look who we ran into, SLASH! Me thinks Prince Abu-bu is having a good time. So are my eskimos. And so [...]

EVERYDAY OSHO: Amatuers and Experts. Don’t be an expert. Be an amateur!
By Jane on January 27, 2011
Today I may be a photographer, blogger, property investor and manager, entrepreneur…tomorrow I may want to be a hairdresser, a chef, a stylist, a gardener, or a carpenter. Who knows? Life is short. I don’t think I would want to do the same thing for the rest of my life. I have many more things [...]

My pathed walk-way leading up to my front door has been unusable since the end of summer. Remember my Fall Chrystanthamums that were so beautiful and took over the sidewalk? Well, they are no longer beautiful but instead are dry, brown and have since passed away…expired. That’s a nice way of putting it huh? Ex-pi–urd! [...]

I saw this beautiful Vintage Motorcyle while walking around Queenie’s neighborhood. It just looked PICTURE PERFECT sitting on this old front porch. I don’t know what kind this is but I love the RETRO look of it. Is that a couch cushion being used as a seat though? Although I love it, I just love [...]

Having major computer malfunctions. Overload of too many pictures.
By Jane on October 21, 2010
Mood Today: I’m dying! My Mac is locking up on me even though I have 88G left of my 411G hard drive. The bulk of memory being my pictures, video and music. Not only do I have another TERRABYTE of memory in a separate hard drive full of only videos and pictures, I also have [...]

My great aunt visits from France.
By Jane on August 13, 2010
My great aunt, MAGDA, from my dad’s side lives in South France and was visiting other family in the US so she decided to swing by Metropolis to come see us. The number of visitors we are having this year is insane! But, it’s the best kind of insanity…family! I’m so glad to see her [...]

Dinner at Katsuya Sushi on low key and fabulous New Year’s Eve.
By Jane on January 1, 2010
I have never really partied on New Year’s Eve. I always spend it at home, chillin. I think it’s because it’s cold and I really don’t want to venture out. Plus, with all the drunks out there, I would rather be with my family. As you can imagine, there’s tons to do in LA for [...]

By Jane on December 16, 2011
Thelma gets called in to do a job where she actually has speaking parts. She’s so super duper excited because she currently LOVES her drama class and she has been waiting for a job to come along. Remember her last job was when she was making cookies for a cookbook. That was only last year and [...]

The girls and I take the dogs for a walk after Metropolis gets 6+ inches of snow…and counting…
By Jane on January 10, 2011
Since I posted the pictures from 6am this morning, we haven’t gotten much more snow than that (about 6-7 inches total so far).Although the snow is still coming down slightly and we’re expected to get a little more today and into the night. The girls and I took the dogs for a walk in the [...]

Introducing color #3: I stray from the brochure and go HOT.
By Jane on March 8, 2010
After painting first two colors (Hep Green and Reflecting Pool), I notice that the colors on my walls are turning out darker than the ones in the brochure. However, I’m still DETERMINED to pull this room together and make it FABULOUS for my girls. The girl’s room is low lit so that’s why the colors [...]

Caffeine while pregnant…just can’t take the coffee out of this Jane.
By Jane on March 3, 2011
Yes, that’s me and the hubs at Starbucks. Bawk! Pregnant and drinking caffeine. Pregnant women just love it when you tell them they shouldn’t be drinking caffeine. What can I say, I live dangerously. It is a myth that pregnant women are to avoid caffeine completely and actually pregnant women can consume about 200mg of [...]

Jane’s Maternity Wear: Me and my bump at the Home Depot.
By Jane on December 31, 2010
Yes, those are my non-maternity ripped skinny jeans. My legs still fit and since they’re low-rise, they rise right below my bump. Awesome possum. Oh, and you’ll be seeing this jacket on me alot. It’s the only winter coat that I have that fits my exploding upper body. Yes, it’s a Gap Maternity Jacket that [...]

The girls enjoy the fall leaves.
By Jane on October 29, 2010
The girls are superexcited that there are enough leaves on the ground at CHEZ FANNY & FREDDIE (the grandparents) so they can make a HUGE pile and jump in it. Thelma is using some kind of rod to push the leaves together. I guess it’s working okay.
