You may or may not know that I am the one who takes care of the yard work in our family. Yes, I’m the “yard boy” or if you live out in California, I’m the “gardener”. Either way, I mow the grass, weedwack, edge, and leaf blow. It takes me about 2.5 hours to do my 1+ acre yard the way I like it. Yes, I’m anal about the yard. I like it to look neat and pristine, hence I do not let Dick cut the grass…not that he would volunteer to do it anyway.

Thelma: Definitely a Daddy’s girl.
By Jane on July 5, 2010
Thelma is the ultimate Daddy’s girl. She worships her sweet daddy. I love and am super thankful that they have such a wonderful father. He definitely fills in all the voids where I’m lacking. Always patient and playful with the kids. They adore him. (Don’t be letting this get to your head honey.) -Jane, Wife [...]

My my Tacky-Eye: Them boots are not made for walkin’!
By Jane on March 14, 2010
I was at Starbucks having “Coffee Talk” with June Cleaver when I spotted this lady wearing these boots. I’m not really sure what to think of these things. As a artist, I can appreciate the artistry that went into these. HOWEVER… I am not a fan of the ROLLING of the jeans. They’re too short! Having [...]

Jane gives Orchids the Artsy Fartsy Treatment.
By Jane on March 9, 2011
Close-ups of the orchids, so you can fully appreciate their beauty! (NOTE: All pics were taken with my little Canon G11 point and shoot camera.) Enjoy! THE LADY SLIPPERS Lady Slipper Orchids are one of my favorite varieties of orchid. They are just gorgeous!! They are called Lady Slipper due to the slipper-shape pouches of the flower. If you’re a Lady [...]

The girls are crazy about their daddy and whenever he travels, we all miss him dearly. The girls leave messages on his dry erase board to show how much they’ve missed him. They also know how to write their names in Persian. -Jane, Mommy to Thelma and Louise.

The No-TACKY-EYE-CRAP-in-the-yard Association.

I woke up to a SUPERFABULOUS Saturday. I walk out my front door and I’m greeted by my Buddha. Buddha is so great to come home to. Isn’t his smile contagious? (He’s still PIMPED up from my party.) The air is FRESH, COOL and a brisk 60F on this beautiful Saturday morning. Because we live [...]

I was driving the other day when a car caught my eye. What is that white boxy thing in the front there? I’ve never seen one before. Couldn’t even begin to tell what kind it was. I keep driving hoping to catch up with it so I can see. Even with my lasered eyes, you’d [...]

Happy Accident #3: We got a turd on the way.
By Jane on November 29, 2010
Yes, that’s my bloated belly. Yes, I over-indulged and thoroughly enjoyed all the yummies we had for Thanksgiving. Yes, I ate too much. However, this is only partially why I’ve got the added weight. We are excited (and initially very surprised) to find out that we have our “turd” happy accident on da way. What can [...]

With hardly any time to edit them all, I take WAY more pictures than I can handle. Here are more from EASTER taken on my BIG camera that I forgot I had. The others were taken with the Canon G11 Point & Shoot.

Brussel Sprouts: Love em or Leave em?
By Jane on April 29, 2010
Whenever people talk about kids not wanting to eat their veggies, somehow Brussel Sprouts come to mind. The girls and I were reading about why it’s good it eat veggies that are in season and why they are good for you. It is good for you to eat vegetables that are in season because you [...]

Traditional Persian breakfast daily. I’m in heaven.
By Jane on March 24, 2012
I may hate the traffic of LA but I love the food diversity! OMG, we are in Persian food heaven. We’ve been hitting the Persian grocery store in Westwood (Persian neighborhood) and have been enjoying a most fabulous Persian breakfast daily. Persian bread: Sangak. It’s similar to Indian Naan bread. So super yum! French feta [...]

Thelma’s girls volleyball league was invited to go watch a collegiate – level ladies volleyball game and have the team members give them a clinic afterwards. So, our team decided to go. We were on our way when all of a sudden, something sounded funny. Then Dick says, “Oh, crap, I forgot about the nail [...]

Thelma has her first real soccer match. It’s the FIRE.
By Jane on September 20, 2010
We just had our first soccer match of the season! Louise isn’t playing because she’s one year younger and by the time she decided she wanted to play, it was too late. Coach is just super nice and lets her practice with them. Although Thelma played when she was 5, since it was just a [...]

If I’m going to eat a sandwich, it’s almost always going to be turkey. But, turkey sandwiches all the time can get boring. So, I decided to make a turkey wrap. However, I don’t like the tortilla skin when it’s cold. So, we’re going to toast it! TOASTED TURKEY WRAPS Because I’m using rather large [...]

Bike trailer still holding up.
By Jane on September 30, 2010
We bought this bike trailer for the girls when they were like 2-3 years old. Here Dick is showing off that he can bike with NO HANDS, rubbing it in because I can’t. I am only proficient enough that I can now let go of one hand. But, even at ages 7 and 8, the [...]

If you’ve ever seen a watering can in the bathroom of a Persian person and were confused why you didn’t see any plants laying around, this will help explain it for you. In America, the BIDET…the secondary toilet looking thing that sprays water at your butt…is pretty much non-existent. It [...]
