The next day and after the sleepover, I decide to take the girls to the library…oh yeah, and we’re biking to get there.

I’m coming, I’m coming!

The girls wave “hi” to passersby.

So advanced in their young age. I could’t bike one-handed until a year ago.
THE LIBRARY
We have arrived.

Thelma, Louise and Kristen pick out some books.

They love being able to self-check out.

Our library has a summer book club and the kids are super excited.
Some of the books they checked out: Pippi Longstocking, Frog and Toad, Ramona Quimby…recommendations by yours truly…some of my faves when I was a kid.

I guess we got a few more books than we can handle.
READING BY THE STREAM
I suggest to the girls that we go by the nearby stream to read. It’s so peaceful and beautiful.

How very Huck Finn of us right?

Louise doesn’t want to get her bum dirty, hence sitting on her bike.

After I put down one of my bike bags for her to sit on, she obliged.

Of course, I came prepared. I’m Vietnamese…we bring food for all trips…short and long.

Ice tea to drink too.

My ride.

EXPLORATIONS
Whenever you have a stream such as this, with rocks enticing the kids to come and play, there are definitely explorations to be had.

Rock hopping.

No, I didn’t force them to read or pose them.

I’m just an observer and capturer of events.

Oh, we’re off to a new spot ey?

It is true what they say about having kids…keeps you young.

You have to be to keep up with them!

Well, that was great fun. Now the ride home.

On the way there…it was smooth sailing…mostly downhill…
Quite the opposite when on the way back.
Whew!
