Louise was not feeling well at all the other day, can you tell?
Girlfriend had a cough and stomach ache.
Since it was a co-op day, Thelma went to class while Louise just rested at home. Most of the day Louise spent in bed. However, it was such a beautiful day, too beautiful to let go to waste.
We’ve been so busy lately that I was totally CRAVING a LAZY DAY where you just sit outside and enjoy the light breeze, the sunset, spring flowers, and chirping birds.
I remember as a kid I had plenty of lazy days where I would sprawl out on my parents couch and twist my hair. Just lay there and twist my hair. Actually, I hated it back then because I was SO BORED. I was young, wanted excitement!
But now, looking back on my childhood and being so super busy these days, I TOTALLY miss those days of nothingness. No cares, no worries, nothing to do.
I want my girls to have some BOREDOM in their lives too. We are very guilty of being super busy: The kids have art, dance, karate, piano, and ice skating lessons weekly. I want them to have time to BE BORED. DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. This is the goal for summer!
It’s calming for the soul and good for the mind. I think we often try to avoid times like these as an adult, or maybe it’s just because life gets a hold of us and we are simply just too busy. However, I miss it and I want my girls to have more time to just chill, be creative, and do nothing.
We have so many wild violets in bloom. I go lay in a patch of grass and ask Louise to join me. Nature can be very healing and I think some fresh air will do her good. She wasn’t that motivated to come but did anyway.
Later we moved onto the lounger on my deck. So perfect for a spring nap outside.
Poor thing, I couldn’t hardly muster a smile out of my usual spunky girl.
However, towards the end and after an hour or so of nature’s love, she started to come back to life again.
Yes indeed. We need more lazy days with nothing to do.

Loved those lazy summer days too! Kids rely too much on technology now for entertainment.
