A little snow is not going to keep us from going out. It’s our 14-year anniversary!
By Jane on February 1, 2010
Yes, it’s been 14 years since our very first date and we go out to celebrate. Being that we had this “snow storm”, no one is out and many places are closed. This is one of the few times where I’m still game to go out despite the cold. It’s too cold for me to [...]

You may or may not know that I am the one who takes care of the yard work in our family. Yes, I’m the “yard boy” or if you live out in California, I’m the “gardener”. Either way, I mow the grass, weedwack, edge, and leaf blow. It takes me about 2.5 hours to do my 1+ acre yard the way I like it. Yes, I’m anal about the yard. I like it to look neat and pristine, hence I do not let Dick cut the grass…not that he would volunteer to do it anyway.

Pomelo: The sweet alternative to Grapefruit.
By Jane on January 30, 2011
What is a Pomelo? It’s the sweeter version of a grapefruit and about three times the size of an orange. I guess Walmart spells it “pummelo”. Same thing. They’re a little pricey (About $2.50-$3.00 each) but are really yummy. I don’t like grapefruit. It’s too bitter for me. But, the pomelo is a great alternative [...]

A friend of mine sent me this forward and I found it amusing. Yes, it doesn’t take much to amuse me. This is a Chinese Eye Test. Can’t read it? Try pulling your eyes out to the sides, as if you were Chinese. It’s a good thing I have good vision. -Jane, 20/20 Vision Woman

My girls built another “house” in my parent’s living room the other day. This is not uncommon if not a weekly thing. I love that my parents don’t have a house where they’re afraid to let the girls touch anything. They get to unleash their creativity here alot. Today, it’s a “house” that they plan [...]

Homemade chicken noodle soup to stay warm in this cold weather.
By Jane on January 16, 2010
My kids love chicken noodle soup, especially when it’s cold. You don’t need a ton of ingredients and can easily throw it together. This time, I just used what I had. Since I had some chicken thighs in the fridge, I used that to make the broth. It’s fattier, but unfortunately, that’s the fat that makes it tasty. [...]

FO REALZ BALLS OF FURY. PING PONG THROW DOWN.
By Jane on April 13, 2010
The other night, I beat Dick in ping pong. Quite a victory for me considering, against Dick, I don’t win often. Yes, it irks me to admit it. HOWEVER, I can feel I’m getting better. So, during dinner, I challenged Dick to another game…so I could see if last night was just a lucky game, [...]

Short hair. Long hair. Which do you prefer?
By Jane on November 15, 2010
My girls go back and forth between short and long hair. Usually, it’s summer when they want their hair short. But now, summer is over and the girls are wanting their hair to grow out. Slowly but surely, it’s getting there. Of course, by the time their hair becomes long again, it’ll be summer again. [...]
